Hey BGG, how's it going? (first time posting here)

I've recently had a rough idea for a strategy/board game that revolves around stereotypical action movie plots. Best examples of template might be Die Hard, Austin Powers, 007, etc...(Evil Mastermind, henchmen, right hand man, femme fatales, main hero with maybe sidekick, loved ones, etc...)

It would essentially be a sort of rock-paper-scissors of the "bad guys" and "good guy(s)" secretly declaring actions, using whatever resources they have available (perhaps a setup system for buying people, simple stats...) and trying to thwart each other or accomplish some goal.

Again, this is a rough idea, and I'm certainly open to suggestions and/or (hopefully) helpful criticism. Also, if such a game/system already exists (or might be helpful) I'm sure someone here would know what it might be.

Also, if you guys feel this belongs in another thread just point me in the right direction.

Heh, took a look (rhyme not intended) it seems interesting. Could be a nice starting point for the format, communal cards and such.

Also see Fortune and Glory which is set in a different period, but might provide inspiration for some mechanisms.
