Hi, I was looking to get some feedback on an unusual situation:
On the first turn, the shadow allocates 1 eye and rolls MCCEEE.
I roll WCPP, and hold "We Prove the Swifter", and "Fear Fire Foes!"
Mentally, I was completely unprepared to start out going for a FPMV, but I knew FFF! was really strong early. I also didn't want to keep my opponent waiting while I considered all the places my companions could reach (he was kinda cranky about his roll).
I ended up Proving the Swifter to the Old Ford with all seven companions, then Character action to Parth Celebrant with everyone but Gandalf, who went back over the mountains, where he raised the alarm with Fear Fire Foes! as Strider and Boromir arrived in Minas Tirith, Legolas in Lorien, Pippin in Fangorn and Gimli and Merry reached Edoras. Then Aragorn was crowned King.
Maybe Legolas or someone should have gone to DEW?
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I would run Gimli to the DEW line; might as well activate the Dwarves while you can do so efficiently. And if you draw the Book, you'll be ready to execute immediately. Boromir escorts Merry to Edoras. Aragorn, once crowned, will activate Gondor.
As an aside, please tell me your opponent allocated no eyes to the hunt box turn 2?

That is a hell of an opening. It might be a best-case opening.
Here is what you do.
TURN 1 C: Strider, and 1-2 other companions to Moria. P: We Prove the Swifter strider to Minas Tirith, draw a Gandalf card P: Play your new card, or draw one. W: Promote Strider
TURN 2 (planned) C: Move FSP C: Move companions - Strider to Westmnet for Dead Men & invicibility Companion 2 towards Shire Companion 3 towards DEW M/P: Fear! Fire! Foes! Aragorn is wherever Companion 2 is in Shire/Bree Companion 3 is on Old Forest Road, ready for The Good Book or Grimbeorn.
If you split Gandalf as companion #2, then you save a sword on turn 2 because he can go to Bree immediately. But you lose 1-2 cards on T1 and probably 1 card on T2. Personally, I'd keep him as guide and SPRINT with the fellowship until he dies.

Thanks, I didn't even consider not using FFF on the first turn, but Mr. Weaseley makes a good point about the card advantage.
To the aside: he placed one eye. But at least he now understands why I don't place any on the first turn!

The flipside of not placing an eye turn 1 can be very bad. (Though odds are against it 4 free moves by the FP is hard to overcome)
