How are you meant to make that work with the cards?

Put the cards in on their sides with the dividers separating them. Use the provided foam blocks to fill the extra space.

Here's a photo from Dragonspire, which uses the same insert:

You will want to stand the cards on their long edge (sideways), with each individual type of card, one type of hero, or one specific weapon, etc separated by the included dividers...

You would then probably want to organize so that all the heroes are together, all of the monsters, and all of the village cards. You probably want to keep all of the basic cards together too (the ones that are always used in every game... polearm, regular, torch, etc...

You will have a lot of empty space (for previous and future expansions), which is what the foam inserts are for...

edit: Ninja'd by several people.

Actually just one person twice, but since he was a ninja, you thought he was a least a dozen. ninja

Buy all the expansions.

edit - I suppose realistically just one expansion would probably give you enough foam + cards to fill out the box (or certainly fill an expansion box).

This is the only logical answer. Do it!

Ouch. You ought to be able to kit bash a spacer from cardboard.

Either that, or maybe someone else in Canada has extras they can ship you.

Shipping from teh US is so unreliable...

I'd be happy to help you out with extra foam bricks.

How are people getting on with sleeved cards in this box?

I took my copy out the other day and found the bottom corners had really started to fold over, in a very noticiable way. However most cards in the box seem to be affected by it, is the norm and slightly less of an issue than it could be.

That's exactly why I don't sleeve thunderstone cards (also to avoid the game being too heavy).

Yeah it's a real pain.

I'm considering making my own insert out of foam core.

God knows why they decided to make it curved corners. A real pain.

I'd wager it's mechanically required, due to some combination of not tearing the plastic, cost of the mold, and/or removing the insert from the mold easily and without residue.

Yes, could well be. I'm not sure if all plastic inserts are always curved like this...

Personally, I have yet to see one that isn't. Just sayin'.

I was just trying to think of the slots for cards or what not (such as 7 Wonders) and whether they have a flat bottom.

I thought they did...but am not sure. perhaps they don't.
