The majority of my collection is games I've purchased based on research rather than first hand experience. Some of my games I've "played out". Which of your games would you repurchase, if you had to start from scratch?

Catan first, then Dominion.

After that, i'd probably get Dungeons & Dragons: The Legend of Drizzt Board Game, Arkham Horror, and Ghost Stories.

those would be my first 5 to replace.

I'd start with Cosmic Encounter and all of it's expansions since it's a great game that scales well for a good number of players and always ends up fun. I'd try to pick up Eclipse next since it scratches both the 4X and civilization itch (for me anyways). I'd want a simple euro like Lords of Waterdeep and a more complicated one like Ora et Labora. Then, I'd want a dudes on a map game, either Nexus Ops or Dungeons & Dragons: Conquest of Nerath Board Game. I'd probably want a short card game for when these games wouldn't work and for me that'd be Race for the Galaxy. Finally, I'd want a wargame with some historical significance, most likely something from the Conflict of Heroes family.

In a list form:
1. Cosmic Encounter
2. Eclipse
3. Lords of Waterdeep
4. Ora et Labora
5. Nexus Ops OR Dungeons & Dragons: Conquest of Nerath Board Game
6. Race for the Galaxy
7. Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel! – Kursk 1943
8. Merchants & Marauders
9. Ticket to Ride with Ticket to Ride: USA 1910
10. Summoner Wars

Edit: Seeing too many games I'd need to have as well, so I'm rounding it out to 10 items.

For myself, I would probably only repurchase 3 games: Star Wars Customizable Card Game, Heroscape (and expansions) and Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition.

For my family, I would only repurchase Ticket to Ride.

1. Dominion, seaside, intrigue, prosperity - wife's favorite

2. Power Grid

3. Space Empires 4x

4. Macao

5. Battlestar Galactica

I would start there. I would probably also use this as an excuse to upgrade to the 10th anniversary Puerto Rico...

Without a doubt, Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game & expansions. We've played that game to death (seriously - the board split in two!) and then some.

Other games on the definitely repurchase list include Twilight Imperium (Third Edition) + expansions and Quarriors!. Lords of Vegas is probably up there too, being popular with the friends who don't like the heavier games. And if my brother's collection is also considered, then Merchants & Marauders must be replaced.

For my part, Summoner Wars: Master Set would be my first repurchase, since I've been having a great time playing that with my 12 year old daughter.

Next up would be another decent Go set, since I've really been enjoying playing that. I actually recently issued a $50 challenge to my daughter to go through the first 2 parts of the course at http://321go.org. She jumped at the opportunity, more for the $50 than to learn Go. But another tantalizing $50 later for parts 3 and 4 and she'll know the game pretty well. Who knows, she might even enjoy playing it some day.

Sticheln would probably be next, since that's a great game from 3 to 8 (or is it 10?). Probably my favorite trick taking game, next to Sluff Off!.

Of course, I can't leave Innovation out in the dark. I'll pass on the expansion, since I rarely play with it.

I really would have to get Blue Moon and Navia Dratp again as well, even though they're no longer in print.

Boy, that's a lot of 2p games. While these rarely come out on game nights, I love 'em!

I guess I would choose the following games first (no special order exept for maybe ghost stories)

1. Ghost stories
2. Stone age
3. Dominion
4. Puerto rico
5. Café International
6. Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers
7. Coloretto
8. Ticket to ride: Europe (and 1912 expansion)
9. Robo Rally
10. And for the sake of my kids - affenbande and UNO

But there are some more I would probably buy later.

Interesting way to pose this question. If my current collection were to disappear (say, in some kind of natural disaster), and I would get sufficient insurance money to replace it up to its entirety, I would not do so, but I would buy back quite a few - more than I can list here. However, the first or top ten that I would buy back would be (in no particular order):

1. Battle Line - my wife's favorite two-player game
2. Rummikub - my family's favorite game
3. Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
4. Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea - with all expansions
5. War of the Ring (First Edition)
6. Space Hulk (third edition)
7. Commands & Colors: Ancients - with all expansions
8. The Russian Campaign
9. Modern Naval Battles: Global Warfare - with expansion
10. A Game of Thrones (first edition)

These are some of my favorites that get a lot of play, but again, I'd buy back more than just these. I'm guessing I'd buy back around 50% of my current collection, which right now numbers just south of 300 games.

1. Up Front.

Not sure I'd replace anything else, maybe the Combat Commander series if pressed. Then take the extra money I'd have spent on games and buy more art ... like my walls aren't filled enough already.

It's time to retire your board and get a new one from the resurrection ship.

The first five eight (since I couldn't decide on the fifth spot) I would replace:

1. Power Grid - my favorite game.
2. Dominant Species - my other favorite.
3. Belfort - my current hotness.
4. BattleLore - my favorite two player game.
5. A tie between the following four: Puerto Rico, At the Gates of Loyang, Merchants & Marauders, & Dungeon Petz
