hi to all,
I am not a collector, but I like to play often, then I want to have only the best games for each type, so you always have different games without similar mechanical.

i have:
- agricola (worker placement)
- puerto rico (economic)
- navegador (rondle)
- stone age (set collection)
- ticket to ride europe with 1912 (trains)

and we like them all!!

try games that play good from 2 to 4 (often we are 2) with mechanical different from the ones we have

we do not like:
- auctions
- games for only 2
- ameritrash
- games too difficult
- games abstracts
- games too long
- coop

I hope you help me!

Get the following:

Steam
The Boss
Glen More

Check back in when you've played those a bunch.

Ah I misread. I thought you were DIDN'T want games that only play with two.

Instead of Steam, you can get Railways of the World. Plays two great. No auctions.

Hah. Just for start player. You can even leave that out if you want. Don't be afraid of auctions.

Race for the Galaxy. It looks like ameritrash but a lot of strategy to be had.

Or 1812. Fantastic, easily accessible wargame that plays 1-2 hours and scales very well from 2-5 players

I don't really like auction games either, but you can play Steam without auctions. Just play the beginner rules with random starting turn order.
There's still plenty of game there.

Carcassonne for tile placement. Simple (in the best sense) and a classic. The base game is great, and there are about 1 million expansions to pick from to add additional variety. (If you can get the Big Box in Italy, that provides a nice mix.)

Your loss. The auctions are very minimal and you can probably variant it out anyways.

Carmine, no need to apologize. I just needed some ideas of what mechanics you felt you were missing. Now I know: deduction, tile placement, pick-up and deliver.

For deduction, take a look at Nuns on the Run. I'm not sure how well it plays with two, but the only deduction games I can think of that are good with two, are strictly two-player games, i.e. Mr. Jack, 2 de Mayo.

For tile placement, go with Carcassone. It's really good with two, and still fun with more. For a really meaty tile-placement game, go with Tigris & Euphrates. The box says it plays 3-4, but there is a widely-accepted variant that works for 2 players.

For pick-up and deliver, take a look at Macao. There's much more going on besides pick-up and deliver, but it's there.

A couple other categories you should have:

Dice Placement/Manipulation - Macao has this too, but the absolute best game in this category is Troyes.

Disaster Management - some games are all about who gets destroyed the least. Galaxy Trucker is awesome for this. It also involves tile placement if you wanted to take care of two categories. Heck, it would do three categories because it also involves a speed-play phase.

I hope this helps. Sorry for not providing links. I'm on my iPad and it's very time consuming.

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone for the advice

between the games you have proposed, I really like:

railways of the world, but I play almost exclusively with the map of Mexico (2-3 players) and do not like ..

carcassonne: everyone talks about, but it seems boring to me, after playing agricola and puerto rico!

macao: I like it, but I read that it's like castle of burgundy and say that it is more beautiful.

there is a game similar to the railways of the world which is good for 2 to 4 players?
