I am into a buying frenzy... But I cannot find a game I am interested in.
I want something to play solo, OR something with variant solitaire rules.

Only 2 weeks ago I bought Friday and Defenders of the Realm

Here is the list of games I own (and I like):
-Gears of War: The Board Game
-Rex: Final Days of an Empire
-Space Hulk (third edition)
-The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game plus expansions
-Mage Knight Board Game
-Pandemic
-Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game plus exodus exp.
-Mr. Jack in New York
-Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game plus expansions
-The Resistance
-Dungeon Twister 2: Prison

Apart the usual classics (Carcassonne, Ghost stories, TTR)

I used to own then sold or traded (for various reasons):
-Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel! – Kursk 1943
-Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001 – ?
-A Game of Thrones: The Card Game
-Dominion: Intrigue
-Return of the Heroes (which I regret trading away... cry )

I want to avoid dry, long Euros; I would like something thematic, that plays in no more than 90-120 minutes, and, like I said, plays solitaire, or has variant solitaire rules.

Look into my collection to know what I have, in detail.

I keep on going through an advance search with the following filters:
1 player
No expansions
Rating 6-10 with at least 10 voters
No war games

And the games that come out either don't appeal to me, or I have them already.

Is there a hidden gem I am missing out on? (like Friday has proven to be?)
Is there something that would fit my criteria, that I don't own already?

Thanks for all your help.

Wow, one can never get enough of solo game, even with Mage Knight Board Game eh? I thought that's the latest and current holy grail of solo game. Endless and hours of solo joy.

Some suggestions:
- Runebound (Second Edition) (official solo rule is included)
- Star Wars: The Card Game (coming only in summer 2012)
- A Touch of Evil: The Supernatural Game or Arkham Horror or Elder Sign (either one is fine)
- Conquest of Planet Earth: The Space Alien Game
- any of the Dungeons and Dragons Adventure System Board Games
- Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin
- Rune Age

Please let us know what you're getting at the end yeah.
- Damien

p/s Shadow Agent!!

EDIT: spelling

Thanx Damien, for the suggestions.
I own Elder sign:omens on my iPad;
I am not into deck builders (that's why I sold dominion), but I own all of them on my iPad (ascension, dominion, nightfall);

I excluded Arkahm horror, cause it take a gazilion years to finish, so I usually play it on vassal solo.

I'll look into the others you mentioned. I had a look to them, and know them, but if you think they are worth it, I'll give them a second look (btw: if you guys hadn't insisted on Friday, I would have never found what GREAT game it is).

So, thanks again.

PS: Shadow Agent is a solo game I am designing, which is the boardgame version of games like Splinter Cell.

Haha, yup I know, I follow your work Michele. What a huge task designing and redesigning all the artwork and mechanics.

I don't know if I should include some euros in my previous suggestions, but here are some euros that I own and play:
- Walnut Grove
- PAX (haven't try it yet)
- Peloponnes
- Le Havre

It appears we like a lot of the same games (I may well have been one of those who recommended Friday). One game I've gotten a lot of solo play value from is Ghost Stories. I actually like it better solo than with other players. Check it out.

Thanx for the Friday recommendation.

I already have ghost stories, goth physical and on my iPad... I am looking at K2, now, but have not dropped out of Flashpoint either... I just hate the components...

Take a look and spend, spend, spend.
