So, a summer vacation with a bunch of gamers is planned, and I know that there will be many times when there will be six of us at the table. I have a bunch of 6-player games already, but am looking for new games now to spice things up, in particular those that play 2-3 hours max even with 6 players. Quicker filler-type games are also of great interest, including card games.

Here are some 6-player games we have and enjoy:
6 nimmt!
Steam (stretching the three hour limit)
For Sale
Power Grid (good, but too long)
RoboRally (will bring this one)
Power Grid: The First Sparks
Airlines Europe (excellent)
Pickomino

Games we have tried but are too long or did not click with us:
StarCraft: The Board Game (didn't click)
Bootleggers (burnt out on this one)
Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game (too long)
King of Tokyo (didn't click)

We are very slow players, so games that come close to the three-hour mark is of less interest. Those usually take at least four hours for us. Also, we do not like co-ops much.

I know we already have tried a lot, which makes recommendations hard, but in particular for later releases and for card games I feel I have missed much. How about 7 Wonders?

Edit: Games only available in Germany are fine, I often order from German online retailers

My friends and I enjoy Locke & Key. It's simple, quick, and a lot of fun. Plus, beautiful artwork based off an excellent comic. We need it to break up the 2-3 hour games we play.

Take a look at Kalimambo. It plays fairly fast, has almost no strategy or planning (well, You can come up with nice plans, that are probably destroyed within the next turning of cards) and most of all it´s pure fun!
Cheers

The Resistance- Awesome Social Deduction game
BANG!- Classic western Shooting game, loads of fun
Ca$h 'n Gun$- Another super fun game of shooting
Cutthroat Caverns- One of the best backstabbing games!
+1 for Citadels
+1 for Bohnanza
Mystery of the Abbey- One of my favorite deduction games (might take around 120 min)
7 Wonders- Just get it!
Acquire- A classic game of M&A, very easy to learn and play and loads of fun!
Alhambra- A tile laying building game
Fearsome Floors- Highly underrated, but lots of fun this, can be chaotic with 6, but that's to me the fun part!

7 Wonders : definitely what you are looking for.
A great filler, which does not take much more time playing it with 3 or 6.

For fillers:
- Get Bit!
- Witch's Brew + Treasure Chest (base game alone will only allow you to play up to 5 players) (I like this game more than Citadels
- +1 7 Wonders
- +1 The Resistance
- BANG! The Bullet!
- +1 Saboteur + Saboteur 2 (expansion-only editions)

Eclipse - Might stretch your time frame, a 4 player game for us (second time for everybody) took 2 hours. However the time flies when playing this one, felt like just one hour. Reprint will arrive at stores in early june. Awesome game.

Formula D - Fun racing.

Dixit - Hilarious and short play time.

Oh, and Ricochet Robots also, nice filler.

+1 The Resistance - Ingenious social deduction game. BSG without the clutter.
+1 Bohnanza - Great classic trading game.
+1 The Great Dalmuti - A nice spin on Daihinmin climbing games
+1 Get Bit! - Figuring out what others will do boiled down to it's purest form.
+1 7 Wonders - If everyone plays their turns simultaneously it's quite fast.
+1 Alhambra - Another SdJ classic. If you prefer a more confrontational spin on this concept you might find Space Station to your liking.

Wizard - Call your tricks after looking at your hand and then try to fulfill them.
Dog - A team based and less random variant of Pachesi for 4 or 6 players. One of our favorites back home.
Ubongo with 5/6 player extension - Tetris like time puzzle.
Or maybe a Summoner Wars round robin tournament?

In the way of pure card games the few times that we have had 5-6 players Hex Hex and The King Commands were simple but very fun and quick to play.

Long Shot. Every group I've brought it out for has loved it, including non-gamers, it can handle up to 8 people if I remember right, and it plays pretty quick - even with a full compliment of players you can probably play through in an hour or so.

You totally need 7 Wonders. It was the first game I thought of for a large group like yours.

edit: also, even with 6 players, your game length won't really increase as everyone plays at the same time. On average our 7 wonders sessions take 45 minutes max. Our first game when everyone was new to the game and some were half drunk from wine, took 1.5 hours, and that was 6 players. Your sessions might take that long if you're all playing it slow all the time, but it will still be fantastic. One of the best things about the game is that it has a definite end. It always takes the same number of rounds. Also, if everyone is playing it quick, even a 7 player game is just 30 minutes.

Guillotine is also fun. It says 2 to 5 players but you can stretch it to 6. You might want to vary who starts each of the 3 rounds by skipping 2 over instead of just the next player.

I'd suggest these light, party-style games:
Time's Up! Title Recall!
Duplik
Gambit 7
Say Anything
Globalissimo
Pictomania

Also, these more strategic games:
Sleuth
Antike
Die Säulen von Venedig
Himalaya (+expansion for the 5th and 6th players)
Jamaica
Peloponnes (+expansion for the 6th player)
Steel Driver
Take it Easy!
Ticket to Ride: Team Asia

Those are our go-to games for 6, in addition to 7 Wonders, Witch's Brew and a few of the others suggested above.

If the players don't mind looking/acting silly (but not roleplaying!), then I'd strongly suggest You Robot, played in 3 teams of two each.

It takes all of 15 seconds to play a round (up to two or three minutes), but we played this for about 3 hours over New Year's Eve.

Braggart is another light, fast game that's worth a look.

Chronicle, too if you like trick taking games.

If people like to make (and break) deals with each other, I'm The Boss! is probably one you should buy, but it comes in a standard size box, so not particularly easy to take on holiday with you...

I was just about to post Ticket to Ride: Team Asia. That game is fantastic. And ticket to ride games are generally 2 hours MAX. If you consider your group ultra slow then maybe 2.5 hours. But we generally play our ticket to ride games in 1.5 hours max

I'll second Witch's Brew w/the 6th player expansion and Showmanager. Rattus: Africanus and Survive: Escape from Atlantis! 5-6 Player Mini Expansion are probably worth checking out -- thus far, I've only played Rattus and Survive with three or four, but, in each case, I bought the expansions because I really liked the base game thought it would be fun with more players.

In the filler category, Ubongo: Die Erweiterung für 5-6 Spieler makes Ubongo an option for a group that size. Maus au Chocolat, Liar's Dice, and Nobody but Us Chickens would be my other go-to games in this category. And I'd be really curious to try Coyote.

One more recommendation that's either high-risk or you'll be able to tell right away from descriptions whether it'll work with your group: Lifeboat. I've only played once and, in some ways it was a worst case scenario (one player was eliminated early and the game was relatively long), but I think we all had a blast.
