I know of a few board games based on comics, like Walking Dead. And I know that D&D has been a long-time comic book. I was wondering what other boardgames that folks enjoy might make an interesting comic book. I guess I'm thinking of original boardgames as opposed to something like Battlestar Galactica.

I'm not sure how riveting a Ticket to Ride comic would be. Maybe Small World. I dunno. Thoughts?

Solitaire.

On a serious note, I'm still trying to figure out how anyone thought it was a good idea to make a Battleship movie. shake Worst. Idea. Ever.

EDIT - oh, I thought of one. How about Descent/Runebound/etc.? I think there's probably enough there to base a comic on.

Arkham Horror. But perhaps that's cheating, as I'm sure there's a Lovecraftian comic out there somewhere.

I think Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie had some promotional comics/cartoons too. I could do with more of them.

I imagine Twilight Imperium (Third Edition) would work pretty well. They've built a lot of history to work from, so it's not like they'd run out of source material.

Sentinels of the Multiverse

Arkham Horror and a lot of the big epics would work well, too.

I'm not saying I'd read it, necessarily, but:

Settlers has spawned a novel, and has a reasonably flushed-out history narrative behind it (that you play out in the card game). I bet its backstory could emit a comic book, at least for a while.

Each of the scenarios of Ambush! would make a nifty comic book. Some of them are pretty lurid, a step (or two...) away from the War Stories comics Garth Ennis et al put out. The game is also very character-driven.

Two come to mind:

1) Malifaux. Don't know much about this game, but just looking at the miniatures is enough to suggest a rich world.

2) Android. I know this would make great storytelling because Fantasy Flight has a series of novels based on it.

My number one pick would be A Touch of Evil: The Supernatural Game. The characters and style of the game would be fantastic in comic book form.

Yomi could also make for a fun comic book.

I know it is really cheating because there were years of Star Trek comics, but I would love to see comics set in the more militaristicStar Fleet Universe.

I appreciate any publicity for board gaming.

Yeah, I was thinking of TI. Is the game an original concept, or based on a book or something?

Probably half to three fourths of the Ameritrash games out there would make awesome comics and/or movie ideas. They'd probably get ruined during development, but they're awesome ideas.

Perhaps someone should write a book about the bible.
