Heelo guys,

I found this awesome custom board and what to ask a favor. Since I couldn't contact the owner of the file (michael redston) I tryied print this board, but here in my city they can only print A3 format. Anyone with photoshop skills could cut the pic? my lack of skills don't let me do it.

I have cut the sheet up into six parts, each 200mm by 200mm.

This way it will fit inside the box and you can now print each part onto A4.

Let me know if you would prefer it cut into 3 parts, each 200mm by 400mm, that way each part would fit onto A3.

Elder Sign Board Part A
Elder Sign Board Part B
Elder Sign Board Part C
Elder Sign Board Part D
Elder Sign Board Part E
Elder Sign Board Part F

Edit: Images removed as they are LQ and do not do the original justice!

Omg! Thank you so much! Very fast reply! I think this way is pretty good. I will try it out. But how to print it? just save picture and print with no scales? (Sorry i told i'm not skilled at this).

Edit: The creator of the Board sad on post that he cut the board into four pieces and it fits well in the game box.

Regards

The images above can be printed at full size (do not scale it at all). Do not shrink the image because otherwise none of the components would fit. All you need do it print the images at full size, you should not need to do anything else except make sure the images are printed in the centre of the page.

The original size is 400mm by 600mm. If you cut it into four then each part would be 200mm by 300mm. Since the box is only 250mm square it would not be possible to fit inside the original box. I don't understand why Michael said it would fit inside the box if it was cut into four.

Let me create a PDF for you. The PDF will contain three pages, each page will have a 200mm by 400mm image (i.e. one third of the original image). I'm sure most shops will be able to print from a PDF.

Here is the PDF file.

Elder Sign Board PDF

As mentioned, the PDF contains three pages, each image is 200mm by 400mm so each page needs to be printed on A3.

I just realised that I was using the LQ scans for the artwork. I'm downloading the file from Rapidshare at the moment but it is taking ages (well over an hour) and it is in PDF format. I was working with the LQ JPG originally.

Since the HQ image is wrapped inside an PDF, then I can't do much with it, don't have the correct tools to do the job. Sorry, the file I produced above (the JPGs and PDF) are LQ images so once you print them it will look crap. I wouldn't bother getting them printed as it would not do the original justice. Sorry about that

i will give a try. Dunno if they will look like crap. I hope it looks ok. I think the only problem with the low res will be the written part, but i will just place the original museum entrance over it

Chris, Orlando

I have was able to download the PDF (of the file above) last month and have split it up into 4 separate files (although I have not printed and tested them).

Please Geek mail me with you emails and I'll send them on for you to test.

I have made a previous board loaded on BBG and have been using that and have not had time to construct this one, or I have just been lazy, probably the later.

I have to go out now but on my return I will send you the files.
Noting that each file will be 77mg. PDFs that are cropped still keep the whole file.
Something to think about or maybe I should just post them on BGG. What do you think?

Hello Kon,

thank you very much. Show your Board to us. If the file is too big, just upload it at any storage site and send the link to us. I think it's the best way to share it!

Thanks. Is it possible that you could do a similar thing but this time with the JPG files instead of the PDF?

The problem I have is the PDF files are still 300mm and therefore do not fit onto A4 size paper (which is 297mm) without shrinking the image. Actually, my printer requires about 3mm margins so it can only print 291mm.

Not sure why the files are so big, the images must not be compressed at all, which is (in practical terms) a bit pointless

If I can get the JPG files I can produce files that (a) fit onto A4 size and (b) are small enough to allow them to be stored here at BGG.

Cheers

I don't think jpeg images will be that small. Those are High quality images. I just printed the board and will upload the pics as soon i build it. Thanx everyone for the efforts.

I know this thread is a little older now, but thought I would share I made this over the holiday weekend.

backing board is old chutes n ladders and trivial pursuit boards that I cleaned off the old paper with a razor and then cut into 6 even pieces. Hinges are made with a shipping tape (forgot the real name, but it's the kind with the white fibers running in it). Back covering is a black curtain type material I picked up at a goodwill and adhered with 3M Super 77.

Front image I had printed by Staples on satin photo paper (which I went in with the original 80MB pdf and they only charged me like a regular paper oversize printing).

I then cut it into the 6 pieces and adhered them one by one carefully. Board folds up perfectly into a square and fits wonderfully in the box - even with my box that contains all the tokens nicely.

Looking forward to using it tonight.

Considering cutting the clock out at the top perfectly to allow the original game's clock to pop in.

That's pretty slick! And if you don't already have a good circle cutter, you can get one in the Scrapbooking section of Micheal's or any other craft store.
