Seriously though, according to Steve Luck's Classic Indoor Games
Shove-halfpenny boards are traditionally made from hard wood or slate, and measure about 51x38cm.
The board features 10 horizontal lines 3cm apart, with the first line 5-7.5cm from the front of the board. The boards feature a 'run-off' area 10-13cm towards the back of the board with wooden beading to stop coins dropping off the end.
Took me ages trawling the internet, not finding this information, to discover everything I needed to know on the bookshelf behind me. I think there's a lesson for us all there.
