So I traded this game for rune age a few months back, why is it all of a sudden so sought after?

What makes you think it is?

[edit] Two minutes spent browsing the folder tell me that it has gone out of print.

All so why is this considered in the family as rune bound and rune wars etc?

I've never heard anybody suggest that it is.

I think that the miniatures in the game are identical to some of the miniatures in other Terrinoth games.

It is listed in the Runebound family of games because it is based in Terrinoth. Terrinoth is the world that Descent, Runebound, Rune Age, Dungeonquest etc. take place in. The models used in it are the main characters in Descent, which is based in Terrinoth.

Why does everyone want it? Mainly because it is out of print.

Amazon re-sellers often list crazy prices - you'd have to be nuts to pay $200 for Drakon. Looking at recent completed sales on eBay, I see one went for $29.99 on April 3rd, one for $40 on April 18th. Somebody has been trying to sell one for $59.99, but it expired twice (April 18th and April 23rd) because it got no bids. (And somebody else got no bids on a 2nd edition at $14.99 with a "buy it now" of $19.99.)
