The lab where I am working at MIT is hosting the first annual Gayme Jam on May 12, focusing on the creation of tabletop games.

Game Jams have been used as ways to get people together to create games on different social or political topics. This will be a jam to focus on games relating to the LGBTQ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Questioning), thus the "Gayme Jam" name. You don't have to be a member of the community to participate.

If you are in Boston, you can register at and join us.

If you are anywhere else, you can join in in the morning on May 12 (exact time TBA), and watch the Live Stream either by yourself or with your gaming group. You'll then have all day to create a print-and-play game. At the end of the day, you will be able to post a PDF of your game, where it will live with the other games made that day. We are also working to have a spot where you can post a video talking about the game. The Live Stream will be running all day, so you'll be able to participate virtually with us from wherever you are.
