Games that fit into little boxes - if you are into crafting games by yourself.

My bag has small pockets which I don't use for anything, so I've packed them with card games that travel with me. Games currently in my bag:
Tichu - Fantastic trick taking game for 4 players
Sluff Off! - Fun and evil trick taking game for 3 to 5 players
Archaeology: The Card Game - Neat set collecting game for 2 to 4 players
No Thanks! - Quick and fun push your luck game for 3 to 5 players

Other good small games (from my collection) include:
6 nimmt! - Simple and fun out guessing game
Bohnanza - The Nordic version comes in a pretty big box, but since it's all cards, you could buy a deck box that is the right size.
Coloretto - Simple and easy to learn.

I hope this helps

Just thought I'd mention how I bought this at an OOP premium a couple days ago and am eagerly awaiting it to arrive. OP, see my thread on "economic cardgame" in the recommendation forum as to why I bought it!

Hmmmm: +1 to Innovation (may be my current favorite game)
Rivals for Catan is fantastic. Get the expansion and you can fit everything except the instruction manual into the smaller box (the original box may be a hair bigger than "conveniently portable").
Mr. Jack Pocket has all the appeal of its bigger brothers with none of the bloat. Plays in 15 minutes and comes in a tiny box. Costs about 15
Friday is an amazing solo game. Games typically last about 45 minutes, though the box says 25. It kicks Onirim's ass, IMO
Axis & Allies: 1942 is completely not what you're asking for and you should totally ignore this last item in my list because it's idiotic to put it here.

Give Me the Brain!

Super quick and super small, especially if you get the "Special Edition" instead of the current Third Edition.

If you can get a hold of it, you should check out Triumvirate, another game from Indie Boards & Cards.

Biblios is another good one. I think it's getting reprinted as we speak.

I would recommend:

Saboteur

The Castle of the Devil

Anachronism
May be hard to find, but I know some shops still have stock, and I think you can get pdfs of the cards.....

Lost Cities

Kahuna

Battleground

Totensonntag
Another one hard to find since its awaiting a reprint, but a good wargame in a small box
