A couple issues came up in our games tonight and we weren't 100% confident on the correct way to handle them.

1.) Timing in the Upkeep Phase

I was playing as Roland the Fed who gets $1 every Upkeep if he has less than $2. He also had a Bank Loan that he had to roll for. Which event would happen first, receiving the $1 from his ability or rolling to see if he defaults on his Bank Loan? Is it the call of the first player to resolve the timing issue?

2.) Hound of Tindalos Hunting Horror movement

At one point the Horror moved and two Investigators were equidistant from it. Although they were both at unstable locations, one of them was currently sitting on an Explored token on a Gate. Since Gates are said to replace the location they are on, does that also replace the aspect that it's an Unstable Location? Or does the location retain that trait even though the location itself has been replaced?

Re: Upkeep timing and Hound of Tindalos movement questions.
1.Yes, any timing conflicts(co-occurrences, and such) are resolved by the first player in the order he chooses. It's in the base rules.
2. Unstable locations with a gate are still unstable. In your example the hound will move the investigator with the lowest sneak stat. If the Sneak values are tied, the first player chooses.

Upkeep actions may be taken in any order the player wishes, Arkham Horror rulebook - p. 6.

The location does retain the Unstable trait. You would first look at each investigators's Sneak, the Hound would go to whoever has the lowest score. If the scores are equal, the first player decides where the Hound goes.

Is there a mistake? The Hound moves to an investigator in any location stable or not, apart from the hospital or asylum.

A gate on a location is still a location.

Indeed there was a mistake. It was the Hunting Horror. I confused the two. Thanks for pointing it out!
