The release is in less than one month. Not sure if we will get in time for Origins but stores should have them around the end of the month.

So, lots of people ask questions about what's the difference between Dixit Journey and Dixit 3. I will repeat what we wrote, Dixit Journey is a complete game, it will be available in US mass-market stores AND speciality stores at the same time. Dixit 3 is an expansion same size than Dixit 2.

For the cards, Journey: 84 cards, 81 new and 3 from previous set (1 from Dixit, 1 from Dixit 2 and 1 from Dixit Odyssey), it will be visible on the card from which set these 3 cards came.
Dixit 3: 84 cards, 83 new, and one advertisement.

Journey available in June in USA.
Dixit 3 available in Sept/October in Europe.

Journey: 32,99 USD (MSRP)
Dixit 3: 29,99 USD (MSRP)

So the new Journey cards are different from the new Dixit 3 cards? Meaning us completists will need both?

For the cards, Dixit 3 have 2 more new cards and one advertisement. All the rest will be the same. It means there's 81 new cards in Journey + 3 cards from previous editions, and 83 new cards + one advertisement in Dixit 3.

Dixit 3 won't be release in USA, only Dixit Journey.

Looks like I'll be looking to European dealers for this one. Lame. Kind of stinks for people in the US who have been with Dixit since the beginning.

Is the promo card from Origins one of the 2 "missing" cards in Journey?

Not sure, but the promo card is my favorite of the Journey batch.

When I see Dixit 3, I think Dixit Odyssey (because it was after Dixit 2) -- but in reality it is probably disjoint from both of these, right?

Thus for the most part, there are 4 sets of cards -- Dixit, Dixit 2, Dixit Odyssey, and Dixit 3/Dixit Journey.

Is the promo card available to all purchasers of the first printing? (ie, is it included in the box?)

That wasn't the impression I got (it was handed to me individually), but the pile at Origins may have been a different case.

What does the Australian release entail? Dixit 3 or Journey?

Dixit 3 seems the no-brainer. Why release them with different cards? Can I ask if there was a purpose with that?

Since its language independent, it is easy to grab it from a European outlet, but still.

My guess is they want Dixit Journey to be a first Dixit game for the public, but advertise in-game about the others, but there is a limit on the amount of cards available to print when the game was being published so they had to remove a couple of cards to accommodate the ads.

Just guessing.

You're all mad about it and maybe right to be and I don't like it either but it's probably a smart business move overall for them.

Not mad at all. Just don't understand why they would alienate an audience to get another when the simple solution was to include the same cards in both.

They can do this and still include the advertising for the other Dixit games with a simple flyer or a single card that advertises all three.
