Hey everyone, I was wondering if some of you would be interested in playing VQ with VASSAL and dropbox? I am willing to moderate/referee, because I want to teach my gaming group this summer. This will be a learning game so we will be going slower and taking our time so we can familiarize everyone with all the new rules.

Any takers?

Once I get six players, geekmail me your top three power preferences and the email you want to use for drop box and the game thread and I will try to get a game up and running tonight.

Thanks!

The Coat of Arms of Clan Montgomery - Scotland. Yes, that's a woman with the head of a savage in her hand, and an anchor. No clue what it means, but it's cool.

As long as we are doing a slow turn around of at least 48 hours, I'd like to try it out in front of BGG Con 2012 (I'd like to play there!).

We have room for one more! First come, first serve.

EDIT:

Chris: We can go as slow as we need to go. We will try to have a set pace, but we should take our time.

I'm positive it won't even take as long as a full turn to discover that a PBEM group can manage a much quicker pace than this quite comfortably (even allowing for some contemplating moves, rule queries, banter, real life interruptions, etc). I don't mean to suggest everyone should feel pressured to play at lightning speed, but things inevitably slow down from initial best intentions--so setting a 2 day turnaround from the outset has the potential to make a game excruciatingly drawn out.

My current 5P game has had several instances of all players getting in at least one impulse in the same day, and by no means has it felt rushed at any point. YMMV.

To all the players - I am on a 24 hour shift. There are some problems with my ACTS account, which I am trying to correct, and I have to download Dropbox (hopefully tomorrow morning when I get home).

Apologies for the slight delay.

I am making good progress on the rules, though!

Cheers.

PS - cscottk - its looking very likely that I will be able to go to BGG Con this year. I have the money saved up, so barring some unforeseen household expense, or an event in which my wife cannot get off of work, I will probably be there. If I were a magic 8 ball, my prediction would be "Signs point to yes."

All taken care of Chris. I knew there was a reason I could not find you. I thought I was going crazy.

No worries about any delay. It was going to take a few days to get this whole thing off the ground.

Best of luck to you... Spain!

I knew when I said I had no preference I might as well have just said Spain. I'll do my best, but all players should expect Spain to screw up the rules, and not play optimally. This is truly going to be a learning game!

Actually five out of seven said no preference. You just got the "luck" of the draw.
