We are pleased and excited to announce the second coming of CastleCon!

CastleCon is a three day gaming convention to be held in Oshawa, Ontario (which is about fifteen minutes east of Toronto along Highway 401) on the weekend of October 19-21, 2012. At CastleCon you can play Eurogames, Wargames, Ameristyle, and Card games all weekend long! You can expect a relaxed atmosphere with some scheduled demos, added value in door prizes, auctions, raffles, and a math trade!

www.fungamescafe.com will be back again selling games as well! We hope that everyone that made it out last year will return for a second year and those who haven't been will make the trek to Oshawa for CastleCon!

The URL for CastleCon is www.CastleCon.net, so please visit the sit for more information on the convention, to buy your tickets, and for a link to book yourself a hotel room!

Oshawa is just up the lake from the Hamilton-Buffalo area -- it would make sense for people in the Northeast US to consider going.

Yes I do. We are hoping to pull on gamers from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

To travel from:

Syracuse: 4.5 hours
Rochester: 3.5 hours
Buffalo: 2.5 hours

Erie: 4 hours

Cleveland is just over a 5 hour drive and Detroit is just under five hours. Not a bad distance for three days of gaming.

Frankly, having posts from Virginia, MD, and North Carolina, while in the United States, I don't consider them part of the Northeast. I actually live closer (in CT) to Toronto than some of the aforementioned "Northeast" states and might entertain a 3 day gaming excursion to Toronto especially since it's my birthday weekend. meeple

Thanks for the post CastleCon!

Just thirteen days left to buy tickets at the Early Bird price of $40! On August 19, the price goes up to $55.

CastleCon is excited to announce that we will have T-Shirts available for purchase starting in mid September, to be delivered at the con, as well as at the convention itself. But before we sell them to you, we want to run a contest with the winner getting a T-Shirt of their own for free!

All you need to do is visit our forums and supply your favourite "gaming" saying to appear on the back of the shirt by August 31, 2012. We will reduce the list to a manageable size, then we will have a vote to follow with results being posted September 7, 2012.

Please do not use curse words, copyright material, or taglines from current games. We reserve the right to veto any saying. The winner of the contest will receive a CastleCon T-Shirt in XXL, XL, L, or M sizing at the convention. We reserve the right to change and or alter the contest at any time.

CastleCon T-Shirt Contest

We are also pleased to offer its attendees two tournaments at this years convention and we want you to tell us which games you'd like to see at the convention. Please visit our forums and post which game(s) you'd like to have in a tournament at CastleCon by August 22, 2012. On August 23 we will allow you all to vote on which of the top requested games you'd like to have at the convention, with voting closing on August 31, 2012.

We are looking for whatever you want to play, so please let us know!
