According to Asmodee's May Newsletter, the 4th Expansion (coming in July) will have the IRL track in Baltimore and the F1 track in India, http://us.asmodee.com/ressources/articles/may-2012-newslette.... Since I work just outside Baltimore, I'm kinda excited to see how the circuit looks having walked around that area before. I personally would have wanted to see Austin instead of Baltimore, but that is the F1 fan in me and with the track in Austin not yet completed, could that be on the horizon for the 5th expansion???

I'm also in the Baltimore area so this is awesome news. I hope they can pull off the race this year.

Great news. Nice to see another F1 track being printed.

I am completely unfamiliar with the Baltimore circuit though. Does anyone have a link to a circuit map? From what I can gather it's a street course.

Baltimore street course is run this year by the Indycar series

I think it looks kind of blockish, but it will fit on a rectangular board easily. I'm curious to see which lane is the pitlane. I'm hoping the left one is, otherwise it will skip a corner.

http://www.indycar.com/en/Schedule

Track Info - from Indycar
The 12-turn, 2-mile circuit incorporates two downtown Baltimore landmarks -- the Inner Harbor and Oriole Park at Camden Yards -- and features a hairpin turn, a couple of chicanes and a long straight leading into a hard right into Turn 1 on Pratt Street.

Unless they change the course for the game, the cars going into pit row miss not 1 but 2 corners on the track.

The pit lane is where the double track is located (right next to the B&O warehouse on the outside of OPACY). The cars turning into pit row peel off to the right (going around the little island) skipping that corner on the track. And then re-enter the race at the bottom of pit row after the cars on the track have gone through another turn.

There is not a good website up for the race at the current time. The original company that ran the race went belly up over the winter and the city canceled their contract. The city signed a new contract in Feb and that company has gone away too. A third group (with Michael Andretti involved) has stepped up and signed a new contract in the past week.

Thanks Ryan.

An Indycar circuit is a nice addition, it's not all about F1, right?
Personally I would love to see some Aussie V8 tracks, Phillip Island especially.

Did they remove the Formula D expansion info from their website? I can't seem to find it. At least, no on http://us.asmodee.com/ressources/articles/may-2012-newslette...

I agree, and honestly I'd VASTLY prefer seeing an IndyCar circuit over something like The Docks. For starters, it's a real track. Secondly, after much experimentation, my friends and I have come to the conclusion that the fictional street circuits are somewhat... abysmal.

Plus, it's neat because I've been to the convention center there. Somehow that makes me more interested. XD

So track pack 4 is especially for the USA, so I'm guessing India isn't the flip side... I'm guessing it will be F1 at Austin (YAWN), but I'd plotz for IMS.

Why the "YAWN" about a track you've yet to see a race run on?

I second that!
Infineon has some great high speed corners. Turn six, down hill is my favourite corner from the whole of Forza 4(xbox360), except for maybe the kink at Road America.

And now they (Asmodee June Newsletter) have announced the 4th expansion has been delayed,
Quote:
We have experienced delivery delays for the new Formula D expansion, we are now anticipating receipt in the 4th quarter of 2012. Thank you for your understanding.
http://us.asmodee.com/ressources/articles/june-2012-newslett... Very disappointing but I believe this isn't the first time an expansion has been delayed, still hopefully it will be available for Christmas, my son really wants this one.

I asked about it at Origins. The representative told me that the expansion has been delayed until October. He also said, contrary to what was said above, that the tracks have not yet been announced. He said that the announcement is scheduled to take place at a location near one of the tracks. I'm definitely hoping that that's GenCon and Indianpolis!

WBC is in August in Lancaster, PA. Not far from Baltimore so I'm still pulling for Baltimore.

Maybe the announcement will come next week when Asmodee is at the Astra Marketplace & Academy being held at the Baltimore Convention Center, http://us.asmodee.com/ressources/articles/astra-s-marketplac...

I'm still skeptical (perhaps wishfully thinking) that Baltimore is again something that they didn't mean to print.

There is an interview with Stefan Brunelle available on the The Gaming Gang (podcast) Extra #49 from Origins, in which he says two things. First, the WBC tournament will use the new track, so unless everyone has to sign NDAs, we'll find out in about a month. Second, he said, "where I will be, at the release, is going to be the track city."

When I talked to him at Origins, I thought he had said that where he will be at the announcement is the track city, but this seems to contradict that. If he really means release, then it doesn't look good for Indy since they're not releasing until October. Is there an October event in Baltimore that would fit? The IndyCar race itself is around Labor Day.

I'm an IndyCar fanatic, so I'll still be happy with Baltimore, but I'll still hope that he meant "release of the information," and that the timeline will be a sneak peek at WBC followed by a GenCon announcement that Indianapolis is the track. But we'll just have to wait and see.

The WBC championships are in Lancaster which isn't too far from Baltimore (90 Minutes), although in the interview they alluded to the Pocono track but why, only NASCAR and its sub-series use that track, none of the open wheel or sports car series currently run there. Two more weeks and we should have some idea, although I think it will be a larger than life version as well.

Yes, we'll see. From the way he said that he'd be in the city, I would have ruled out Lancaster/Baltimore, as 90 minutes and in a different state is similar to being in the next country over in Europe, but you may be right.

There are also rumblings that IndyCar may come back to Pocono next year.

The name of the turn in that picture is "Crossroads," if that's worth anything... soblue
