Right very quickly I need advice on my next boardgame purchase which I'll be making in 30 minutes time:

Considerations:

- Works well with 2 players but can be scaled up
- No deckbuilders
- I'd quite like to try a worker placement style of game
- Less than 90 min to play in set-up and pack away

Games that have caught my eye:

- Agricola
- Stone Age

Go Go Go, I need input before my boss gets in and I have to get offline!!!!

I'll let you know what I ordered once it's done

Thanks

I´d take Stone Age, both are good games, but Agricola sometimes feels a little dry.

I play games not to win, it's the gathering that's important - Thanks for the tip Cate108!

If you're new to boardgames and only player lighter ones, Stone Age is the clear answer. It's a true-worker placement game and has (and always) been recommended many times over the forum and I'm sure you can't go wrong with it.

Other worker placement games that fit your criteria:
- Fresco (in 2 player game, a dummy player will be included; easy to control)
- Caylus Magna Carta (simpler version of caylus)
- Egizia
- Walnut Grove

Do let us know what you end up with yeah.

Based on the games you currently own, either would be a good next step.

I consider Agricola to be the (significantly) superior game of the two, but in my experience Stone Age has a broader appeal with gamers who are newer to the hobby.

I feel like I'm going for the safe option but I've just ordered Stone Age.

Thanks for your help, some good options tabled in the end

Leslie when you go and buy another game and you will I know. Look at lords of waterdeep great game and it is going for 30 bucks free ship on amazon. Also Agricola is the grand daddy of all worker placement games. Have somebody show you how to play you won't be disappointed.
