After reading the rules I am not so sure I have been playing this correctly.

If I have both a white (advertising) and grey (discount) marker on a model, when demand is tallied, do I sell:

(a) three cars at the discount price

(b) two cars at regular price, one at discount

(c) one at regular, two at discount

After reading the rules I am not so sure, but I have been playing (a) was correct. I couldn't find in the rules where if you had both types you had to sell all at a discount (could someone point out the appropriate phrase I may have missed?).

thx in advance.

(a) is the correct answer. Refer to page 11 of the rules, top right paragraph: "If the space contains one or two reduced price markers, then all cars in that space must be sold at the lower price." (emphasis added)

Rulebook page 8, under Phase seven:

"If the space contains one or two
reduced price markers then all cars in that space must be sold at the
lower price, which is $100 for mid-priced cars and $70 for low priced
cars."

EDIT: I looked in the old 2008 rulebook

Above are correct. Discounting advertised cars is one of those fantastically brutal decisions, when you have, and/or a vulnerable opponent, has overleveraged. Kinda like throwing good money after bad, or compounding bad decisions. Good stuff

Discounting means that you get a bigger piece of a smaller pie. Since the game is all about getting more of the pie than everyone else, it's usually a good idea. (If the markets are not oversubscribed, then someone hasn't been producing enough.)
