What are you willing to pay for a copy in excellent condition?

A local fellow saving to finance his retirement holiday (possibly under pressure from the old battleship), is parting with some classic gems in his collection and wants me to make an offer.

My favorite 18xx game for six players is two games of 1846 with three players each.

There were many copies published so it doesn't tend to go for big bucks.

There are no battleships in Stalingrad!

Perhaps you were thinking of Jutland?

A couple of years ago I paid about $75 for a 1974 edition, mint in shrink.
Present day prices range from about $15 to $60 for used (63 & 74 editions).
(Battleship not included)

Judging from eBay completed listings that actually sold... $30 US give or thereabouts. Rather surprised it's that high.

I paid $4.18 for mine, the big box version, brand new too. In all fairness, though, I must add that the year was 1963.
