And don't tell me, one of the Reeves is named Christopher, and wears colorful long underwear . . .

I could Google it, but I just posted a thorough session report on a game that needed it, and I'm kaput.

A reeve was someone appointed by a manor lord, during England's feudal era, to supervise the work done on the land controlled by that lord.

There are other contexts from before and after the feudal era, mostly they just meant the person in charge. (The reeve of a shire for example, which became today's Sheriff [shire-reeve])
