More random info I am remembering from my conversations with RB...

Bow will shoot 2 - 2 - 2
They will collect honor when rolled ninja

Arquebus will shoot 2 - 2 - 2 - 1
They will not collect honor when rolled yuk

But the Daimyo of the sengoku jidai adopted the arquebus anyway ... Honor be damned!ninja

There is honor gained in battle and honor gained by winning the battle. They are different types of honor.

Richard mentioned the Arquebus hit on a cross swords also. The armor does not offer that much protection against them.

The added penetration makes sense, the longer range not much, if what I remember of the period (non first hand ) is correct.

That was my thought as well. Seems like it should mirror longbows and crossbows from BattleLore, with bows having a longer range but muskets having more hitting power.

That was my thought as well. Seems like it should mirror longbows and crossbows from BattleLore, with bows having a longer range but muskets having more hitting power.

The arquebuses used in the Japanese warring states period did indeed have a longer range than bows.
