That is the most ridiculous list. Worse than I could have possibly imagined, even knowing how bad its been in the past.

ORIGINS, you should be ashamed. No self respecting GAME convention would produce a list like that. I'll be going next year, but not because of their awesome website or awesome awards process. I just want to see the games. The rest is a joke.

Looks like the Historical Board games section is their strongest category. I think all of these games are quite good.

•WINNER: Strike of the Eagle - Academy Games
•Test of Fire: Bull Run 1861 - Mayfair Games
•Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles - Worthington Games
•Lost Battles - Fifth Column Games
•No Retreat! The Russian Front - GMT
•World War II Barbarossa 1941 - Zve

The rest of the board game categories were hit or miss...

I don't think it's Fair to blame Wheaton for GAMA's awards process.

I just wish they'd re-define the awards as "most popular of the con" rather than best game.

??

Not blaming him...if anything, I'm giving him credit. Get Bit! was published in 2007 and wasn't on anyone's radar (I had never heard of it until seeing the recent Table Top episode featuring the game -- had you?). A few weeks later it wins an award. Fine by me, the game looked fun to play.

I'd imagine it was judged prior to that. I'd imagine Seth takes full credit here.
