so i have finally went through the chore of learning, reading and test playing the game to try and get a feel for it. I have came to the conclusion that i am getting it down pretty good now, but my question is.

Are progress tokens usually only obtained by commiting to a quest?

Thanks people

To put progress on the quest card, there are also Legolas (2 progress for each kill) and Blade of Gondolin (1 prog for each kill). There are quite a number of cards that can put progress on a location, either in the staging area or the active location. But questing is absolutely the way to make progress.

QUEST!!

Legolas is nice with his ability to put markers on the quest card, but that means you will need to play the red Tactics sphere; and generally Tactics is bad at questing.

Bad questing equals no location clearing.

No location clearing equals death from threat.
