Game 3 of our campaign and things are definitely starting to pick up now. Stephen took Die Mechaniker and began in Southeast Asia, hoping to deter any more players from beginning in Australia. It worked; Kevin took Enclave of the Bear and began in Northwest Territory, John took Imperial Balkania and began in Peru, Carl took Saharan Republic and began in Irkutsk, and new signatory Tom took Khan Industries and could not resist beginning in Madagascar.

Stephen began by expanding into Asia, but not seeing a lot of pressure from surrounding factions, decided eventually to just go ahead and take Australia for the bonus troops. Tom tried to expand into Africa but John pushed hard out of South America and penned him in. Kevin went through North America but again was pushed back by John coming out of South America, and opted to spread across Canada towards Europe. Carl trickled through northern Asia

Well into the game, we collectively realized that Carl was close to the four cards needed for a star, and could easily push into North America and take Kevin's base for a quick win within one to two rounds. Likewise, Tom had very few territories left, and while Stephen could potentially disrupt Carl, he could instead take a large army, soak up the remaining empty countries in Europe, then wipe out Tom to trigger a packet open. So we semi-collaborated towards achieving that endgame.

Tom had bunkered East Africa, though, and was actually pretty well secured in his last two or three territories, and after Carl spread into North America, Stephen realized it would actually be easier to push through Europe into Greenland and eliminate Kevin from the other side.

As the victor, Carl opted to rename Australia as Carl Vonkee. Stephen founded the minor city Tonystarkistan in Afghanistan, and John founded Cattelloo in Tom's former HQ territory of Madagascar. Tom was spared from extinction, but because there were already cities in the two territories he controlled, he basically was forced to put a coin on East Africa. As the first person eliminated, Kevin chose the first blue power to go on a card, placing the Resource Card for Expansion power for Enclave of the Bear.
