This is the first game in which we only sat four factions. It is also the first game for new signatory Dominic, who selected Imperial Balkania and began in Eastern Australia. Tim took Enclave of the Bear (third time in four games) and began in South Africa. Stephen took Khan Industries and began in Southeast Asia to keep Dominic contained. John, seeing people all clumped up in the southeastern area of the board, took Die Mechaniker and began in Western United States.

Dominic began with a slow, large buildup in Australia. Stephen spread slowly through Asia, while Tim spread into Africa. John spread through North America.

As Tim began to fill up Africa, Stephen stretched towards the Middle East to make sure Tim did not get the continent bonus. He also stuck a toe into Indonesia to deny Dominic his continent bonus. But spread thin, fighting on two fronts, and with John all the way across the board, he was unable to contain both armies. Tim took Africa and expanded into South America. John tried to punch into South America but was driven out by Tim, who followed him into North America, curiously without taking the remainder of South America for the bonus.

In the last three games combined, two scars had been played: an Ammo Shortage and a Bunker. In this game alone, another Ammo Shortage was placed in Indonesia, and all three Mercenary scars were placed in Eastern Australia, Brazil and Central America.

Realizing he was unable to hold back the large Australian army, Stephen resigned his base in Southeast Asia, and pushed down into Africa to stay alive, taking Tim's base in South Africa. By this time, Tim had pushed far enough into North America that he was ready to knock out John. Meanwhile, Dominic had the four cards he needed to get the fourth star on his next turn. Stephen was left without any good play to stop Dominic, Tim knocked out John, John allowed him to do so, to come back on the board in Siberia with a fresh new blue power: Recruit into an Empty Territory.

As the victor, Dominic renamed South America as Skyrim. The remaining three of us all decided to put down minor cities in order to trigger the 9 Cities packet. Tim founded Kokiri in Central America, John founded Testefreizia in Siberia, and Stephen founded Miyamotoville in Japan.

We're all very curious to see what happens in future games with new drafting rules and the Bio-Hazard scars, and Tim and Dominic are actually discussing buying another copy of the game to play a different campaign with some of their buddies. The current state of the game:
