On the heels of the previous thread asking if anyone marks their games / rules, for those who do: here's one 'mark of the beast' you may have added to your game(s) ~ Autographs.

I've done this with several, so here's one of them to start with:

NOVA's "Wing Leader"
autographed by Adolf Galland & Johnnie Johnson

I had my copy of Abalone signed by co-designer Michel Lalet after I defeated him at Origins '89.

I have a rulebook to a copy of Car Wars Deluxe Edition signed by Steve Jackson.

Though not the designer, I've had several of my wargame boxes signed by local artist Rodger B. MacGowan.

Ah, crap, that's what I get for selling my autographed stuff. I had the small (4th printing) white box D&D with the small 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 books signed by both Gygax and Arneson. Idiot am I.

I still have Buzz Aldrin's autograph (not on a game, obviously), and my mathematician dad has got Neil Armstrong's (and a pic of him and Neil) from back in late 1960s.

No game autographs, but I have Erich Hartmann's autograph on my admission ticket to the 1972 Alton airshow. Should have brought the play booklet from my Avalon Hill Luftwaffe game, but then I was just a kid and it never occurred to me.

My parents had Jim Irwin (astronaut) stay with them when he visited the UK (to speak at their Church). He charged them for a signed picture. Nice touch I thought.

Somewhere buried, I've got my World In Flames 5th Edition rulebook signed by Harry Rowland. I think it was at one of the last Atlanticons in the early 90s.

MY rules may not be autographed like yours, but can YOU claim to have this, huh?!?:

Sadly, yes, I can. Hoping to get it to the table soon:

Fwiw, I wasn't the one who kept my copy unplayed all these years ...

I picked it up earlier this year, and hope to give it a good home.

Did I mention I also own a copy of Fjords that I bought from Richard Launius? whistle

!!YES!!
got mine 20 years ago at a dying store in Charlotte, NC = after Yaq. already died. some local yokel yammered that I coulda sold it for $XXX before the whoever reprint {which turns out not to have all the old items}
Finally opened it last year(!) to see if had Zepp. rules (+ whatever else) I could adapt to RW, which haven't played since 04/87(! again): that's when I flipped through the rule book for the 1st time >> SURPRISE!
IIRC, the blank 4 pages are right midst the Zepp. info (or rules nec. to make sense of [later?] Zepp. rules) ~ so just bought "Luftschiff" + expansion when AmEx sponsored shop local (SC boys selling it = 'local', despite being hours away off the hwy where no one has any reason to ever be [with grossly overpriced shipping counterweighted by AmEx discount] ~ can you tell I'm Scottish?).

I got Steve Jackson to autograph the wargame that made all the difference to me in 1977, Ogre! Plus he autographed my Mark V counter, too.
