As a bit of a break after the more 'intense' game of Vinci, Mark showed us Elchfest. I saw this one everywhere when I was in Germany, but passed as I recognized it as a dexterity style game on the order of Carabande. The basic idea is that players must flick (yes, flick ... as in Paper Football) little disks so as to form a path upon which their moose (yes, moose) can move over. The object is to get your moose to the other side of the river by using these stepping stones.

I'll admit it .. this was cute and fun ... in a mindless sort of way. It was certainly a pleasant diversion and a break from more intense gaming. I'll likely break down and get one for use in similar situations.

Three games were played: I bested Chip; Ted out-flicked Tim; and Mark out-raced Buster.

Ratings: Tim 7, Buster, 7, Mark 7, Ted 6, Greg 6
