Bill and I are finalizing plans to be at WBC this year in order to show off our political wargame on the 30s and 40s: Gathering Storm*.

We hope to get to the con by Friday afternoon and stay through Sunday. That means we'll have time for about four full sessions of Gathering Storm: Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and (if warranted) Sunday morning/afternoon.

We're looking for a few brave souls to play the game with us. We can e-mail you rules ahead of time so you know what to expect, though we'll walk you through as much as we need to. Ideally we'll have three players for each session, so nine to twelve players. Commitment time will be 4-5 hours of actual game-playing, perhaps add some time for breaks etc.

Anyone interested should e-mail me with your time preferences at the address available on my profile here.

*Yeah, the name is changing again. This time for good (we hope).

Does the game end at outbreak of WW2 or include the entire WW2 up to 1945?

Seeing Poland as a single-area state, how do you simulate partition of Poland & Romania by Germany & USSR?

You play out your Second World War, although it needn't end in 1945 for any particular reason. Exhaustion of the powers is part of the mechanics of the game. The turn track goes to 1949-50, though we've never had a game make it that far.

Having neutral countries with more than one area proved to require too many rules. The section of Poland seized by the USSR was mostly swamp and useless. The section of Romania (Bessarabia) is insignificant at this scale of the game.
