The wife and I are driving into Quebec City tomorrow and staying two days. Any good game shops?

Close to Old Quebec is even better, we are staying inside the wall, but we do have a car as well.

Thanks!

It really depend on what you need, there's a couple of good store.

Close from where you are you have Boutique Le Dongeon http://www.boutiquedonjon.com/ , they are the best in town for Warhammer and Magic The gathering, they also have a selection of boardgame and RPG stuff.

There's Banjo http://www.benjo.ca/en/home.aspx , this one is more a big toy store but they do have boardgames, it's also pretty close from whre you are.

A little farther away you have l'Imaginaire http://www.imaginaire.com/indexv2.jsp?langue=en&changeLangue... , wich is porbably the most complete store.

Then there TPM http://www.boutique-tpm.com/ , that's also nice.

What are you looking for exactly? Somewhere to buystuff or to find players? With that information I could help you a lot more.

Peace!

Are you here for the Festival d'été? (just curious)

The festival is just a happy coincidence. We went to the festival three years ago on our honeymoon. We are going again for pleasure.

Looking to buy stuff - Euros, theme heavy trashy stuff. Not looking to buy much else but i'll browse whatever is available.

and thanks!

Then l'Imaginaire and TPM are your best bet. They have the biggest selection and the pricing is pretty decent compared to other places.

I had a quick look at your profile (hurray for the end of work day ) and might I suggest Dungeon Petz! Seem's it could be to your likeing and play pretty well at 2-3 and 4 players.

Also we got a couple nice microbrewery in town if your interested!

+1 for Donjon and Imaginaire...

You'll probably have to get a bit out of your way for L'Imaginaire as it is in a commercial area, while Donjon is right in the middle of the downtown.

If you're looking to play, there's the Espace Socio-Jeux too that is located in the basement of the Café Cinécure in Ste-Foy. I'm not too sure what the current schedule is, but you probably can leave them a call. They also have stuff on sale, but the biggest part of their collection is for rent or playing on the spot.

If you're looking for heavier stuff, I recommend against Benjo and I never felt TPM was even worth looking into once you've checked the two mentioned above. Benjo will have the classics plus the really popular ones as it isn't a hobby store, it's a toy store. And TPM, well, let's just say some of their stores don't even hold board games and are limited to action figures and movies memorabilia. You might get lucky at Archambault, but I wouldn't count on it (they had Yggdrasil in Ste-Foy).

That's really about it for Québec City.

Wow. Personally I MUCH prefer TPM than Imaginaire. Of course I'm talking about the one located at Galeries de la Capitale. Their price are often 5-10$ cheaper, they have good selection and the staff is really helpful.

I should have mentioned this, TPM in Galerie de la Capital is the only one worth going for boardgames.
As for socio jeux, I talker with Francis lately and he confirmed that it was their worst period of the year. i Even believe that he's in montreal right now doing something for loto-quebec.

I was here this morning. It is a fantastic store. I ended up buying a copy of PitchCar and Twilight Struggle as Xmas gifts for family members.
