Randall Munroe of xkcd fame is starting a blog that may turn out even better than his webcomic

What would happen if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90% the speed of light?

That is really cool.

I love the note at the bottom: "the batter would be considered "hit by pitch", and would be eligible to advance to first base."

Very cool! Thanks for pointing this out.

The second blog post was also good. It's an interesting exercise in probability.

I guess it doesn't really matter whether or not the ump could see the pitch.

It's all right, but it's so incredibly pretentious.

To everyone taking the SAT this year, good luck—but it won’t be enough.

Too bad none of them has any way of increasing their chances of getting a good score. Oh, I don't know, like maybe studying for the test and working the problems to find the correct answers.

...at the end of an article on how miniscule the chances are of ANYONE getting a perfect score by randomly filling out an SAT answer sheet, even if everyone did it...

The most recently one about Yoda as a power generator is fantastic.

"At current electricity prices, Yoda would be worth about $2/hour."
