Here is a preview shot of the current prototype pirate pawns being used for the game of Crossbones.



What are your thoughts and comments about this type of pinch pawn versus another type of pawn or wooden ship meeple or mini if you want to go there...arrrh

The "pinch pawns" would certainly not put me off from playing the game, even if I had to sticker them myself.

But wooden ships (à la Catan) would be a bit cooler (and I think they're fairly easy (cheap?) to come by?)

Gameplay is King and if you have that aspect right, then the playing pieces just enhance the experience.

I'd prefer boats, but if you have piratesarrrh don't you have to have ninjasninja? Or are they there and I just can't see them!

They are being held captive in the cargo hold...a ruthless band of pirates they arrrrgh!

Your board looks really nice Tom - did you get it printed with arts cow or somthing?

"Pinch Pawns" are cool, but I agree little pirate ships would be cooler - I hasten to add: Stretch Goals?
