Hi there!

It turns out that I'm getting married. shake
The point is that few friends are coming to celebrate with us and we want to give them a cardgame/boardgame as a present. They are eight and we want to give them a different game to each one, and the idea is nothing really big, just a detail. Most of them come for a short stay and do not have space for a War of the Ring in the suitcase.

So these are the requirements:
- Small in size.
This allows two options: 1 game of Citadels-size (type-1), 2 games of Coloretto-size (type-2).

- Avaliable in Amazon.de
We buy almost everything in there because the deliver is fast and, as we're lucky enough to live in Switzerland, they return us back the taxes (approx. 20% of the actual price)

- Adjusted to the budget (15 € / game or pack) but a good game.
We give them as a kindness to our friends not as a big gift! The price can be slightly higher (20%)due to the tax refund issue stated before. This allows us to give either one type-1 game or a set of two type-2 games away.

- Language independent or some dependence easily memorized.
We buy in Germany, and our friends do not speak German. The game can also be in English but without strong dependence.

Examples of what we're thinking about would be: Citadels or Japiur as type-1 games, or Coloretto and Mamma Mia! as a set of type-2 games.

Thanks a lot!!

At my wedding it was very appreciated!

In fact it is not a bad idea, but it seems that these days they do not play RPG too much (children, jobs, getting old... you know). Nevertheless I take note!

Thanks!

Hey, That's My Fish!

Lost Cities

Mr. Jack Pocket

Peoples' opinions on these games may vary, but they're generally well-received. These are just games that I own that I might recommend, not sure if they're on your website or not. Good luck!

Cheers and Congratulations!

How about No Thanks!? In addition to the fact that it is a cheap, easy to learn, great little game, the title will be incredibly ironic.

Good suggestion!

Jaipur seems to perfeclty fit your requests.
Sorry, I've seen later you have already mentioned that.

As you mentioned Citadels, there are other games of the same size in the Fantasy Flight Silver Line Games:
Condottiere
Letter of Marque

From the The Chicken Family of Zoch:
Pickomino
Sushizock im Gockelwok

From Gryphon Games bookshelf series (if they fit your size request):
For Sale
High Society
Diamant

There are as well many games from Kosmos two-player series, but again, I don't know if the size could be right for you:
Balloon Cup
Kahuna
Hera and Zeus
Dragonheart

Cheers and congrats,
Gab

23 is an excellent card game and is our fave filler at the mo.

I see that the excellent Biblios is available on amazon.de ... it's €16.98, but is a bargain €13.59 if you get 20% refunded!!

I think that High Society is the one that appeals more to us. We also have in the list Condottiere and some of the Kosmos for 2 series.
Thanks!

Biblios is wonderful! This one goes straight to the list.
23 does not convince me, because it's just cards with numbers and no theme. I'd rather prefer for these ocassion that the games have some theme. Nevertheless 23 goes to our personal list.

I reconsidered this... If No thanks! is good, 23 should also be good.

Thanks!

Wonderful game, but has the same problem than 23: no theme, just numbers.

Same like in the previous post.

Thanks!

Nice game! Unfortunately Amazon.de does not sell it. I'll look for it elsewhere, but for me...

I must be misunderstanding something, they have it for a little over 6 Euro:

The Resistance
Bang!

(With both of these you could even have fun with the game's name and the context if you are so inclined)

It is in Amazon, but it is not sold by Amazon.de, but by Funagain Games USA. Therefore, delivery dates may be longer and, more importantly, the stores typically do not send to Switzerland, or, at least, not at a reasonable fee. Typicaly you pay more for the delivery than for the game itself, while with Amazon, as long you spend more than 20 € the delivery is free, even in Switzerland!

They have already Bang! and The Resistance seems amazing! But it is at least for 5 players surprise It's quite weird for me to find this kind of numbers for players, from 5 to 10. I think it is really interesting, but more for me than for them.

Kuhhandel for a type 1 game. It is not language dependent and is apparantly really fun. A good other version of Bohnanza is Space Beans - a little sci fi in there for people.

I second Coloretto and No Thanks! - especially No Thanks!

Congratulations btw also. I wish you much happiness with your permanent gaming partner

Aha! When looking at Kuhhandel it remainded me the art of Animalia, which I love. And it turns out that it is the same Artist.
Really nice asuggestion.

Thanks! It's nice to think it in that way: gaming partner... I might try to convince the judge to say it in that way.
