Can someone explain to me why people on chat and forums, etc, type the following:

"Bahahahaha"

instead of "Hahahahahaha"

When I laugh hard, I go "Hah..." not "Bah..."

We arent friggin sheep here people.

Can we please get the people of the internet to stop condoning/using this?

Or can someone explain the origin and make it make sense?

I always understand this as:
Bahahaha= exploding into laughter after a pause for reflection

and

Hahahaha= regular laughter

Hahaha is your typical laughter.
Bwahaha is like when you laugh suddenly & honestly & your lips kinda pop with a breathy Buh sound.
So if I were making a generic "that was funny" laugh it would be Hahaha.
But if I wanted to indicate that something was so funny it caught me by surprise (and thus funnier than usual) then I would use the more blunt & overt Bwahaha.

The initial "bwa" indicates schadenfreude. Compare:

Example A:

"My dog has no nose."
"How does he smell?"
"Awful!"
"Hahahaha!"

Example B:

"Why do you have that bandage on your nose?"
"I was doing some bike jousting and my little sister's majorette baton lacerated my sinus."
"BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! Dumbass."

Well see, I get the "Bwahahahah". But since when do we forego the W

You understand "Bwahaha" but not "Bahaha?" It's just a variant.

If this concerns you, then you'll be really confused talking to Asians. The Japanese laugh is ふふふ (usually romanized as fufufu, but the sound is somewhere between fufufu and huhuhu) and the Korean laugh is ㅋㅋㅋ (usually romanized as kekeke, but sounds more like continuous stream of hard 'k' sounds with no vowels.)

To be honest, this whole post, stems from some girl I work with that just uses "BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA" in pretty much every other reply when using our company chat program.

We call her "Fey Klaff" (not to her face of course..)

She pisses me off

She is definitely the girl in Office Space...... but gets way more "screen time"

Ugh...

Interesting. I worked with an Argentinian who used "kekeke". Was he just weird, or secretly Korean?

In some countries, it's "jajajajaja". I guess it's because they pronounce the letter "j" with an "h" sound.
