How are people doing in the game on this front? Win and loses? I haven't lost one yet, although it's been very close out of the 7 or so games.

Occasionally challenging solitaire, a cakewalk 4-player, mostly because of the lieutenant.

Gold Beach is brutal solitaire. Add just one more unit, and it's doable.

Most of the early maps seem almost tutorial. As you look ahead, they get tougher, so wins will be more difficult.

I would consider Gold Beach to be High Difficulty as solitaire for the "basic" rules.

We're at one win, one loss playing with three players. I'm not counting Exercise Tiger in my tally, since that was just tutorial stuff.

We did OK on Omaha Beach, but Utah Beach made us its bitches. It was ugly.

I embarrassed to say I was losing the training exercise over and over. I come on here and see that everyone says the game is easy. So I re-read the rules, play and lose.

What am I missing I ask myself? Then last night I try again with my wife and just going over how to play and she looks at the rule book.

"It says you can re-roll all four dice you just have to lock 2 in on the first roll. It doesn't say you have to keep skulls on rolls 1 & 2"

"Let me see that.... Holy shit!"

Go on to win the 3 training scenarios with no problem.

Now assuming she was right, which I'm having trouble with devil then if you want to amp up the difficulty to another level keep skulls.

If she wasn't right and I was playing it right all along then I have no idea how anyone is winning.

You know your wife is right. Just admit it and move on.

(Seriously, though, you can pick which two dice you get to "lock" on the first roll, and you can re-roll any die that isn't locked.)
