Hi,

just a question concerning the route phase:
The french got a 3x higher combat value than the enemy.
Now the enemy has to retreat.

Is this retreat step done unit by unit wise, starting from the closest area to the enemy reserve area and then -after all units are retreated by 1 step it starts again from the closest area on...?

Example: The enemy is having a cavalery in the Enemy Front area and 4 units in the enemy approach area and 1 unit in the reserve area.
Since the enemy has to retreat he`s moving the cavalery from the front to the approach area, but there there is already a limit of 4 units...so the cavalery is destroyed. Then all the 4 units in the approach area retreat to the reserve area. The units in the reserve area retreat (but not those ones, that just entered the reserve area). Finaly the rest of the units in the reserve area leave the map.

is this correct?
Reatreating is done unit by unit and is started from the unit, that is the closest to the enemy. Then every unit makes 1 retreat step and then it all starts again....

Regards
Mario

Yes, this is correct...

Retreating is done unit by unit and is started from the unit that is the closest to the enemy. Then every unit makes 1 retreat step and then it all starts again.

Once they all retreat once. You start a new turn of combat.
