As I stood waiting for the kettle to boil, I engaged in counting the number of fridge magnets my roomie and I have on the fridge. 48. 3 of them are adverts, 2 for Munro's Honey and Meadery, and 1 for Pickwick Books in Waterdown, Ontario.

My favourite fridge magnet (at the moment) is a clunky metal one, a souvenir for Lang Pioneer village, in Lang, Ontario.

Two are my favorites. They each contain a tiny picture of my children when they were babies.

Nothing like sticking that baby with the schedule for upcoming homework.

A few years ago on one of my trips to Gettysburg I came up with an idea. Our fridge was cluttered with advertising magnets. So I bought about 8 Gettysburg magnets figuring I'd much rather look at those than the advert ones. Then my wife and I started collecting magnets from museums. So now it's about 8 Gettysburg magnets along with ones from museums like the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, National WW I Museum, Kansas Cosmosphere and National Civil War Museum. I will be visitng the Harry Truman Presidential Library this week so I'll be adding a picture of Harry to my fridge most likely.

The middle two polls need an "all of the above" option for those of us who have 0 fridge magnets.

OK, at the time of posting the words "those" and "us" are inaccurate - but surely I am not the only person in Chit Chat with none.

My mum's fridge has nowhere for magnets because it has a wood-fronted door and is built into the other kitchen units.

So she has her "fridge" magnets on the side of the microwave. Would that count?

That's me! I use the magnets to keep track of how recently I've playd games. In that picture, from over a year ago, I guess I'd played Blue Moon City and Dominion most recently, and Zobmondo rightfully languishing in the back after not having been played for many years.

My current fridge:

At the moment any of my kids' toys that have magnets on them serve as fridge magnets (princess dolls to dress up, letters, etc..). I was recently thinking of putting magnets on the backs of scrabble tiles. that would look neat, and the kids can practice spelling.
I *used* to be one of those who didn't like to have anything on the fridge...now I have a collection of toys, pictures, drawings, and a calendar. I find it's a great place to display the kids' drawings and cycle through them.

The fridge magnets don't take up too much room on our fridge; it's the photos of the nieces and nephews and babies of friends and relatives that the magnets are holding to the fridge that are cluttering up the works.
If there were fewer photos and such, there would be a lot more room for magnets. Which I would be fine with.

My favorite is one (very similar to this) that my mother brought us from Barbados:

It is spring loaded so it jiggles like crazy whenever the door moves.

It also creeps the hell out of my wife. I often find it in a drawer.

I had a set of emoticons that I got from Yahoo Messenger a while back. I gifted those to WriteGamer. We have a chocolate lab magnet, because we used to have a chocolate lab. The other ones are gifts from people, or the magnetic chip clips that we grab to close bags.

We have two fridges (one is in the garage). The garage fridge has a variety of cocktail recipe magnets, and two old tobacco adverts converted into magnets.

The upstairs fridge has about four to six strong magnets for posting things. One his holding this pattern up, since nobody in my family cross stitches:

My favorites have been broken by my child so I have stopped caring about my fridge magnets. When we first got married, I made some cross stitch magnets and some other crafty ones; they're all gone.

Mostly stuff of my daughter's.
