Does someone know if the new FFG square sleeves fit well for the battle cards in Civ? Has anyone already try them? Thanks

Those sleeves are 70mm square. I think the cards are 64mm square. So they are a little big for those cards. Someone else may want to verify my measurements but I think that is about right.

I have used these sleeves:

You only need to cut with scissors the extra height, and the cards fit really really nice in it...

Thanks, I've done that before with The Rivals for Catan cards but I am becoming a bit lazy and thought the new FFG sleeves would help me

I've used the same solution, but with some generic sleeves I usually found. But it's trouble to use these cards anyway. Because we have to rotate them to play, it's hard to shuffle them afterwards.

The Ultra Pro 69mm x 69 mm Board Game Sleeves for Power Grid also work for these cards. I had some left from my Power Grid cards and tried them on the unit cards and they were a little big though. I left them without sleeves. Just like Paulo said, I think it would be difficult to shuffle the cards and handling over all. But if you're planning on putting on sleeves I'd suggest these because they are squared already, you don't have to do any cutting.

I just bought a bunch of the new FFG square sleeves. They fit the battle cards pretty well, but they're not terribly snug (+/- 1mm excess on either side). They shuffle nicely and feel better in the hand, and the cards are snug enough that they are not likely to fall out. In general, I think they work well.

I've oriented all of mine so that the 1st level troops face the opening. It actually speeds up the battle a bit, as it makes orienting the cards a little faster.

On another note, the square cards in this game are the same size as those in El Grande. Feels good to finally have that game completely sleeved too.

Actually El Grande cards are marginally bigger. Mayday 67x67mm sleeves fit perfectly for Civ, but are a little too small for El Grande.
