A block game on the 1066 campaign intrigues me, and the map graphics you've posted here so far also look very nice. Is there any further info that could be shared on this game? Is it going to cover most of the year 1066, similar to the S&T game, or does it begin just prior to the invasions? Also, any info on when it will be available and where it can be purchased would also be helpful.

Hi Chris:

Thanks for your questions.

This game will be presented as a Print & Play free game later this year. If you don't want to bother making your own copy, Andrew Tullsen of Print & Play Productions will happily provide his services.

The game itself covers from before the Viking invasion to the end of the autumnal campaigning season. It is possible that no invasions will occur the first few turns since players are at the mercy of prevailing winds.

TT

Thanks for asking!

I am currently working with Nuts! Publishing on the finishing touches of To The Last Man! so I'm somewhat busy now.

Christophe and I plan to make all files available by the end of the year, if all goes well.

Superb. Could you upload some more graphics f.e. units?

Done. Uploaded a map preview, should soon appear if approved by moderators. The curves/colors are not optimized for a web/lowres picture, didn't have the time. I'll try to post some blocks/stickers later...

Thank you for the new images, the game looks like it's coming along very nicely. I think it's great that you are starting the game before the invasions, and judging by the map, the players can choose to make their invasions in different areas than historically, though I'm guessing that the numbers in the invasion arrows can influence that decision.

The blocks look nice too, though I personally like the weapon silhouettes better, especially the one you did for the Fyrdmen. Looking forward to seeing this game become available.

On the other hand I prefer silhuettes.
So maybe two version of block stickers: weapon and silhuettes?

Christophe, Tim,
Could you post some short description of game mechanics? How much similiar it will be to block games of Columbia Games?

Buckets o' Dice are used to resolve combat, blocks are rotated when they take hits, there's a battle board where combat is played out, no cards, short playing time, relatively small number of blocks...

I'd say that all sounds somewhat similar to Columbia's earliest block games.

Christophe is hard at work on the Nuts! Publishing version of To The Last Man!

Because of this, 1066 won't be released until early 2013.
