Very intrigued to see which units will be available. Will we see a couple of units for each country? Or just a couple of the most famous ones?

My guesses:

US: 101 Airborne 'Screaming Eagles'
1st Infantry Div 'Big Red One'

British:6th Airborne Div 'Red Devils'
50th Div 'Tyne & Tees'

Canada : 3rd Canadian Div

Free French has me stuck tho. Maybe partisans?

Edited to add: and will there be legendary units for the Germans and the Atlantikwall?

All I know is from the PDF from the Kickstarter that there will be 12 units: http://valleygames.ca/wp-content/uploads/DDD-Expansion-descr...

So, I would say

Canadian 3rd infantry
British 6th Airborne
British 3td infantry
British 59th infantry
US 1st, 29th, and 4th infantry
US 101st and 82 Airborne

That is 9 units...

Maybe the British 79th Armoured... Hobarts famous tanks used in some weird way.

I may be alone, but I would love to see the 5307th Composite Unit (Provisional), AKA Merrill's Marauders, once the Pacific series comes out.

You and me, buddy. Which means you have a good chance of seeing them in a couple of years (when Pacific is out).

You got 3. Out of the 12 from War Stories. There will be expansion packs offering yet more units. I'm mainly interested in the lesser known units showing all the different nations and cultures of the Allies, and also in the units that were directly involved in amphibious landings.

A unit doesn't mean a Division. Some were company-sized, others are regiments.

You got 4!

For the rest, think smaller, more regiment-sized units. Like the Irish regiments, or the Scots...

Maybe, but DDD is centered on the soldiers themselves, not the hardware. However, you might see a flail-tank, or a bridge-laying one.

My pleasure. In 2014, you'll be able to recruit the "Marauder" or the "Kachin Ranger", and find the "Jungle Medical Kit" and the "Fatigue Hat"...

And the Battle Cry of the Marauders is particularly cool: it allows you to gain soldiers from MGF...

"Sarge, Japanese MG ahead!"
"That's okay, CHARGE!!!"

"Honorable General, our gunner is shooting the invaders. For some unknown reason, it is spawning American soldiers, like kappas in a stream."
"Both of you, seppuku!"

I bet the US Rangers on Omaha will be a legendary unit as well...
