Some Questions:

1. Does reducing a planet's strength by one count as 'disrupting the Doctor in some way' even if the master doesn't actually disrupt the Doctor in any column? (Been playing this as a 'yes' but it is quite unclear)

2. Are Nexus points expendable only in their own timeline, or are they usable against any timeline? (We've been playing 'any timeline')

3. Can 'I am the master, you must obey me" be used against the Doctor for a turn? (We played as a yes when it came up)

1. No. Disrupting is only when the doctor is forced to get rid of cards from his deck.

2. Pretty sure unless otherwise stated they can be used in any column.

3. Could go either way. I think so.

For number 2, it comes down to which nexus point it is. Some say "Opposing" column, which means it has to be used against the opposing column. Some do not have the word opposing, these can be used to stop disruption from any column.

I just figured that out today. And some say "pay costs" (ie, Torchwood HQ) which is different from avoiding disruptions.

Just got my 4th game in, and the first time the Doctor won...

Great game, thanks to the designers - not only the best Doctor game I've yet played, also the best PnP. I'm super impressed. I need to order some more card sleeves to make this one last!

i think the master you must obey card can only be used against
his companions not the doctor himself
only mere humans would fall under his spell
not a fellow timelord

To be honest I think the Doctor can come under the effect but I can't think of a situation where you would bother. Most Doctor cards are weak compared to the Companions. His flexibility is his strength as he can flit about at will not the high power he contributes.

In the rules, under Mesmerism, it clarifies that the Doctor is a valid target, but, like Leigh points out, there is usually a better victim.

quite right it is in the rules

would be mesmerised by the master
