Yummy food coming soon to my state. Made even more delicious seasoned with really ignorant boycotts. I plan to eat at each one and I'll take pictures and post them here for all to enjoy when October rolls around and the 1st one opens.

Great Chicken!

Enjoy your free speech. I can't really enjoy my boycotting, since I've never eaten at one anyway, but I'm happy you have the option of sending them your money.

When you try and identify what they used in the batter they cook the chicken in, remember it's equal parts salt, pepper, celery salt, powdered sugar, flour, paprika, hate, garlic powder, and basil.

Some tastes are harder to identify than others. I would have never guessed celery salt.

I'm sort of fascinated by the public debate but don't really think that other thread turned out well. Basically, I'm guessing the food chain will enjoy record sales as a result of the faux outrage and the news coverage. I didn't even know they were coming here until this started and I decided to check.

The company appears to be ethical, well-run, a good community member and profitable. I've heard the food either just okay or fantastic, depending on the preferences and sexual orientation of who I am reading at the moment. Josh says it's just chicken with a pickle. Someone else told me they have employees walk senior citizens to their car with umbrellas during rain showers. Despite looking more like a gun-toting middle-aged former meth-freak, I think I'll whip my ID out and demand an umbrella escort some rainy day.

Pickle? Okay, now I'm DEFINITELY boycotting. I don't understand how y'all can eat those vile things, with their juice that seeps around and contaminates the rest of the food. I almost want to travel someplace they have these cursed places just so my picklephobia can take on more concrete form.

Don't worry about it. Company policy is that only female customers can have a pickle. Yours will come with a clam.

Tripp;

Before I kept kosher and longer before I stopped eating meat as well, I ate at a Chik-Fil-A or two maybe once or twice. It was on the higher quality end of the fast food spectrum.

The Chick-fil-a business is built on the torture (in the extreme) of billions of animals - that is, factory farming of chickens. And they stand on some sort of "Christian" moral "high ground"? What hypocrites. There is a special hot place in the afterlife for the Cathys. Or, if we're lucky they will reincarnate as chickens in a factory farm they buy from. My guess is that they will make as distasteful a chicken as they were humans though.

Once again: modern conservatism is predicated on what they think pisses off liberals.

I Frequently want to eat a chick fil a sandwich. Unfortunately, the last dozen times it has been on sunday.

No need for me to boycott (tho I guess I might. I have no close gay friends any more but it still bugs me that gays would be treated unequally in so many areas).

I like their advertising.

Great article about the key value that makes america work as a country instead of becoming another yugoslavia.

Quote:
“Our church is very much opposed to alcohol and we’re probably one of the biggest sales engines of liquor in the United States. I don’t drink. We serve a lot of liquor. You’re in business. You’ve got to make money,” he said. “We have to appeal to the masses out there, no matter what their beliefs are.”

As a result, when his church actively campaigned against same-sex marriage in California, neither Marriott nor the hotel chain donated any money to the cause. Instead, he stepped into the drama by publicly reinforcing his company’s commitment to gay rights through domestic partners benefits and services aimed at gay couples.

The business of america is business. It's what allows a hindi, catholic, atheist, islamic and judaic worshiper to cooperate together on a project and then go home certain that all the rest are deluded or going to hell.. but the project got done without bloodshed.

Don't mix your business with religious movements. It ends ... badly.

Oh shit. I am totally offended.

What will those wacky conservatives do next?? They might just leave their car idling for all of Earth Day. That will make me and my tree-hugging, chai-drinking, marijuana-smoking liberal cousins look incredibly foolish.

You rebel, you.

Typical liberal. Thinks he was the first guy to smoke dope, enjoy heavily sweetened tea and partake in the joy of nature. When will these people grow up and just accept it - they are cheap knock-offs, pale and flimsy imitations of what us conservatives were doing before their own mommies and daddies graduated from pop music and short-shorts and started groping each other after the Sock Hops.

Yeah. Since the whole intention of this thread is to piss people off, how about not reacting pissed to it? It's an unconventional notion, I know.

Do I sound pissed off to you?

The INTENT is to piss off liberals. That doesn't mean it successfully pisses anyone off.

I don't know what real US conservatives do. All I have to go on is the ranting cartoons that parade themselves here.

I'm more pissed off about the the violence being done to the English language by the chain's name than I am by grandma's latest gin-soaked diatribe.

Asking me whether I had read a thread which is barely a page long stroke me as passive aggression.

Which has nothing to do with me being pissed off.

More incredulous that you could assert genuine conviction in a thread that is entirely predicated on "ha ha this'll piss off those dumb libs."

I tend more towards active aggression than passive so you'll know when I'm pissed off.

The issue, Fwing, is the assertion up-thread that "pissing off liberals" is all there is to conservatism. Considering how many threads I see goads conservatives, one could as easily argue about liberals just wanting to piss of conservatives. It would be just as vapid, this and any number of such threads notwithstanding.

Frankly there are far more goading conservatives and/or Republicans.

We must be reading different forums.

Regardless, the pissing off thing is MGKs thesis, not mine. The hat does seem to fit more than one head here though.
