So I bought the 2nd edition and love it and just got the conversion kit for all the extra monster cards and heroes. Does anyone know of a website that might sell just the monster figures or would I just have to bite the bullet and get the actual expansions?

I am wondering if there is a website out there that breaks apart games and sells pieces of it.

A good site I've heard about is trollandtoad. They sell random Mage knight minis for .35 each and they may make adequate proxies.

Not a perfect solution, but very much cheaper than buying full expansions

These guys only have the Master Sorcerers left from the miniatures.

Someone spoiled the Bane Spiders in another post, and it was something like 1 Master and 3 Minions in a Four player game, so you might find people will start selling off their excess miniatures from their 1st Ed Sets and probably for inflated prices.
EDIT: Assuming they have no intention of playing 1st edition any more.

If you want a cheap alternative to monster figures, go check out D&D miniatures on the secondary market, you can easily find some nice and cheap proxies that will be ideal except for the Dragons which are based on 2x3 ovals but with a little modification you can make them work.
A bonus is that they are pre-painted too if you aren't interested in painting them yourself.

That's very interesting, when will we know how many minis you need exactly for each monster type? Is the conversion kit out yet?

So that's how many minions of each type are needed at most, with the addition of one red Master version of each?

I don't have the cards in front of me right now but I'm pretty sure the Kobolds have 3 red figures for a 4-player game.

I've got several 1st Ed extra monsters from the base set and Well of Darkness. Anyone wants to know what I have and how much, feel free to send me a message.

Your right about the Kobolds. They are the only ones that have more then one red monster per group. It is 1 red for two players, 2 red for three players, and 3 red for four players.

I edited the above post to reflect this. Thanks for the heads up.
