Pro tip: A great way to extend your table space is to put an ironing board next to your table. You can usually adjust the height to fit your table and it can be used handily as a place to put all the game supplies.

No idea how I could play this at home. We had several smaller tables put together in a con, and it was still cramped.

Old folks like me, that's who. After 9 x 30 minutes on the floor I might never stand up again.

I don't think I could make any type of setup that would work at home. When we playtested a 7-player group (and made room for 9 because of a couple 'maybes'), we rented out the apartment clubhouse and pushed 3 large tables next to each other. Then we placed a large foam board over the top (the kind used in science fairs) in order to create an even playing surface...

We put 3/4 inch plywood over the top of a smaller table to extend it. Works well if you have the room size.

As an old-school Warhammer 40K player I own a huuuuuuge plywood tabletop, complete with green felt.

Ancients, be welcome!

Edit: Add more 'u'

The local game store I play at has large wood boards to put over the small table, which extends the playing surface area and have wood attachments underneath to secure them to the table so they don't slide around. Three boards work perfectly.

I expanded my table just to be able to play six player games of Eclipse. My current table is 6' x 3.', but it's oval, so it was difficult to fit more than four players due to the large player boards.

I bought a piece of melamine covered board from Home Depot, cut to 4'x6'. I then added some edging and rubber pads on the bottom to make it stick to the table. I then bought one of the awesome giant mouse pad things from Boards and Bits. I should now be able to easily handle an 8 player game, but 9 would probably still be too crowded.

has one of those (pretty much the exact model depicted in the photo) and it is TOTALLY worth it. If your dining room is big enough, of course; hers isn't really but we pretend (we don't use the drawers on the sides much). We use it for Pathfinder, Arkham Horror, anything, it's spectacular.

Yeah I am pretty excited about it. It is going in my gameroom (you know the room most people put a fancy table and furniture they never sit on). Commonly called a dining room and living room.

For more info on the configuration I got, look here: http://www.nerdbloggers.com/nerdbloggers/2012/5/6/my-experie...

I use my dining room and living room as a game room too. I thought I was the only one!

When we bought our house I asked my wife if I could turn the small guest bedroom into a game room, and instead she told me to use the living room / formal dining room area. I was pleased.

Here are a few pictures of where the table will go. The room is pretty bare because I'm getting carpets cleaned tomorrow. Dogs are so worth it though...

Absolutely true the Jerseys dropped in value. All three are now confirmed dopers.

Going to have to find something to put on that wall...
