What's the point of playing Dominion without Kingdom cards? Isn't that like playing chess without pieces other than the king?

Add a second deck of cards with a different look on the front and back and suddenly you can add kingdom cards. Or get a deck that looks exactly the same and mark up the front of the cards with a sharpie to give yourself some basic/easy to remember kingdom cards.

Still, this is probably still more fun than some standard deck games.

It was, until I discovered this strategy that makes it broken: only buy money. Has anybody else realized this yet?

It's superior to War in the sense that it's shorter, I suppose.

You also have choices still. In war you don't.

I don't understand your claim. Both players should of course buy money, 100% at first, then using the right timing start buying the VP cards and make a rush for the win. Standard "Big Money/Silver Test/Only Buy Money" Dominion play style. Can you elaborate your game-breaking strategy a bit more?

He is making a two-ended joke:

first, that in this version of the game, you can only buy money and nothing else;

and two, many beginners mistakenly believe that they've "broken" Dominion when they discover Big Money, when in reality, buying only money and VP will almost always lose against experienced players.
