Quote:
An Australian billionaire reportedly plans to clone a real dinosaur from ancient DNA samples for a "Jurassic Park-style" area at his new theme resort,

The article gets around to my question by the end of the first sentence:

Quote:
prompting many around the web to ask, "Has Clive Palmer seen how Jurassic Park ended?"

Also,
Quote:
In April the mining tycoon announced plans to build a fully functional replica of the RMS Titanic, which he says will be ready to set sail by 2016.

Let's put the cloned dinosaurs on the replica of the Titanic! What could possibly go wrong?

This guy is awesome!

I personally will do my best to get on the Titanic replica once in my lifetime.

And regardless of how the movie ended, I would DEFINITELY visit the "Jurrasic Park"

Ya know, maybe this guy is actually "God" in human form.

Think about it- Build a ship that has the "fate" to kill a large protion of the worlds richest people (because they will be the ones who can afford a ticket), and then plan to populate the world with Dinosaurs again.

No more rich people to fund the weapons needed to stop the Dinosaurs who are running around eating all the middle class and poor people

Evolution at it's finest

/mentally challenged conspiracy

I disagree that he is just throwing money away. I think he see's things that people would ultimately LOVE to see and experience.

Also, he is feeding the economy by paying the people to do the research/construction/etc..

Sure, I could find a million other things to spend it on too, but he is the rich one here. He has the option. We don't. (at least I don't... )

The oldest DNA samples I've heard of being recovered in good enough shape to sequence were less than 0.5 million years old. Dino DNA would be over 100 times that old. It's very unlikely that DNA of sufficient quality would be recovered to make the project a success, even if they do add DNA from sex-changing frogs to fill the "gaps" in the "code".

We should just expose those frogs to loads of radiation and mutate them back into dinosaurs.

Of course, these dinosaurs will be really, really old. Old and retired.

It'll be called "Geriatric Park"...

So throw some woolly mammoths and some saber-toothed tigers in a zoo somewhere. Still pretty cool.

This sounds like the perfect premise for a movie...

Possibly starring Samuel L Jackson. Co-produced by JJ Abrahms and Michael Bay.

Yeah, but this would be in Australia: Godzilla needs a hat with corks hanging from the rim. It's the law.
