So I just received a brand new copy, and when I was taking the cards out of the shrink, there were a handful of them stuck together. Upon getting them unstuck, the backs of a couple, and the front of a couple, were left completely marked. Will this hinder the game at all? After a couple games through, we will be able to memorize what the marked cards are.

I have sent an e-mail to Iello Games, hoping they will replace the damaged cards; but if they don't, is this a huge problem?

Thanks

Ryan

Did Iello replace them?

Thanks for the opaque card sleeve idea. I may do that if I can't get the replacement cards.

I had issues as well, but just tiny spots around on them, not bad at all
still readable
you just need to make sure you can read them

If you're worried about people knowing which cards are coming up, based on the marking, just deal the new cards off the bottom of the deck instead.

I can definitely read them, but doesn't the damage to the backs of the cards make them "marked," or are the cards open information(I haven't read through the rules yet)?

Iello will very likely replace them. Until then? Sleeve 'em up.

Alternately, use a face-up draw pile and consider the top card of the draw pile one of the cards that can be bought.

It certainly sucks that the cards were defective but it won't really spoil the game if you can't get them replaced. As others have suggested, you can sleeve them, deal from the bottom of the deck or play with the top card face-up. Good luck and have fun! It's a great game you've got in your hands!

Just be thankful that you received your game at all! I ordered my game online but there was a shipping delay which, according to UPS, was due to a "late train." After contacting UPS, I found out that actually, the ENTIRE TRAIN had been DERAILED and all the cargo was pretty much unsalvageable.

I can only surmise that the monsters all escaped from the game box, wrecked the train and its cargo, and are now wreaking havoc throughout the countryside.

Same problem with cards stuck together, and all the components in the game being suspiciously sticky. Sent an e-mail to IELLO.

Interesting you had the same issue. I will say that Iello has gotten back with me and said they will replace the damaged cards. So you should have some good luck there.
