I couple of my gaming friends are marries and really enjoy Quarriors. However, the reason they (and we) don't play it very often is that the sound of constant dice rolling gives one of them a headache. I am thinking about getting them either padded dice tray or dice tower as a gift. Any suggestions or reccomendations??

A felt-lined dice cup and a felt-lined tray work well.

Or you can try nerf dice.

Making a Nerf-dice Quarriors set would be a costly endeavor indeed.

If you want to get them a really nice present:

Probably overkill for a gift, but I love mine.

Yeah because dice towers are quiet ...

Maybe if custom made.

Mouse pad was ok.

Styrofoam?

For those with young ones.

We use a box lid, generally the game lid and place 2-4 baby cloth nappies inside. This is becuase we play some games at night right near the sleeping baby and the sounds of the die hitting the table was waking him up. Quick scrounge for a quiet solution and we came up with this. Works well too.

Absolute quietest thing I've ever experienced is a dice tower/tray combo that I built myself... out of cork-board.

Quite enough to use in a library... which I actually DID do.

If you play Arkham Horror you can buy a Toolkit ipad app for the game on which you can roll dice...then turn the sound off and press the ipad very gently...

Not "pure" cork (the walls are foamboard), but ramps & stops are. Basically the parts dice are most likely to bang up against.

Also my first & only "open design" tower. Nope, the dice don't fall out, unless you're trying to roll more than, say, four at a time.

Thanks to all for suggestions. I have a rubber mat which I think we will try and then move up to a full size one if it works.
