I know that Special Find counts towards the one-find-per-turn limit, i.e. it replaces the normal find in the turn.

My question is then, what if you score multiple Special Find RWB bonuses in a Final Tally? Still one buy or multiple buy?

Re: Multiple Special Find
Special find does NOT count towards the 1-find-per-round rule. Otherwise the Special Find RBW would make no sense at all, since you could easily skip the bonus and just purchase (i.e. find) the same item during the appropriate phase...

Re: Multiple Special Find
Special Find DOES count as your one-buy-per-turn rule, as Emmanuel has stated in another thread - it modifies your Phase 3 purchase so it can be performed on a used item, and trust me - there are about a half-dozen items people would love to have multiple uses of (Grenade, Flak Vest, Binoculars, Bangalore, Flamethrower).

While the second Special Find RWB would be useless (unless you had some other effect which granted you an additional buy that turn), do realize that you just earned 48 Item Points. The geometric nature of Wrench icon collecting is its own reward.

Re: Multiple Special Find
Really?
That does make no sense.

A find due to a RWB (or RBW?) bonus cannot just be the usual find. That would IMO wholly defy the purpose of the bonus.

Had to edit here, because of reading the previous comment wrong...

I understand that buying a used item makes it powerful. But since RWBs are not something you can deliberately plan, you just have to take them where they come. Which means the RWB Special Find loses a lot of it's usefulness due to chance...

Re: Multiple Special Find
Before I post my initial question, I did incline to the rules interpretation as bhz1's too. But I would like to clarify and confirm it.

They are most definitely something you can plan. You have 3 rolls. If you get a RWB and don't want it, reroll those dice. I understand your feeling that Special Find is "weaker" or "less useful" compared to other RWBs, because of the non-vital nature of Items. Roll something else if Special Find isn't very helpful to you at that point in the game.

Re: Multiple Special Find
I disagree.

The problem here is that you would use an item only when it suits you the most. Meaning that you would use the Bangalore Torpedo or similarly helpful items only in the sectors with the highest DEF.
However, once you roll the RWB, you realise that you COULD have used it before. Using it just then is possible, to reduce a sectors DEF...

...but overall you cannot plan to get a Special Find RWB later, to make up for item-use now...

If the Special Find is only useful for items already used (everything else is covered in the Find Item Phase (3)), you have to take what is there just then. Unfortunately, that makes it less useful...

Now, you could argue that Battle Cry is as situational. However, Battle Cry is something that does not rely on actions that have to be done before it is rolled...

So, the only real useful thing about the Special Find in a tactical consideration (in my opinion) is to take the 2 stars, or (if chance permits) a most often less useful card that has been played before...

No matter the discussion or personal opinions are expressed differently, I am rather concerned about Designer's intent.

Re: Multiple Special Find
Here is the intent of the Special Find RWB:

At first, in the original PnP version of the game, it only gave 2 Stars (the "Special Find" in question is actually a Specialist hiding, if you will).

When I designed the commercial version, I decided to add a second possibility, to give players more choices: you can find a used Item.

Re: Multiple Special Find
Therefore, in commercial version, the Special Find can only serve as a modifed Find to find a used item, and it counts towards the 1-find-per-turn limit. Right?
